True main theme for Final Fantasy VII. No, seriously, it perfectly encapsulates the essence of game's atmosphere, especially in first half of it.

I feel similar. This is the song I hear in my head whenever I think of OG FF7.

I can almost agree. I mean, the game has so, so many amazing and iconic tracks, but this is perhaps the one that sticks in my mind as being most definitively and specifically a 'VII' track.

I love the journey this track takes me on. It starts off bleak and depressing for the first part, then there's a little bit of hope with the chimes, just before it gets totally sinister. Probably one of my favorite pieces of music in the entire FF franchise.

One of the most hauntingly beautiful tracks in the game. Thanks Uematsu-san!

Those shivering strings, the chilling solo electric piano, that bloody pizzicato arpeggio... is it too surprising that this is my favourite game of all time?
This song was always top 5 from the game. Hearing this every time just does something to me…I feel this song is transcending time and space. It reminds me of long lost childhood moments that are somewhere In desolation within my heart. It feels so old but yet timeless feeling thats always there! This really hits hard. Reminds me of a different world we used to live in

My local cinema chain had the movie Advent Children available for some reason, I watched and when this theme played... it caught me so off guard. Thanks to whomever took the decision to let the movie play again, and remind us of what once was. Just thanks, I was like "is that final fantasy..." and I didn't hesitate. Very personal experience, true to the game's essence, I guess I finally got why the game was as significant as it was, the story that is.

I remember starting FFVII for the first time in the summer of'98 with my best friend in our summer house. That was probably the best summer of my life. And here I am, listening to this a week before the first anniversary of his death with a glass of scotch. For some reason this track fits my mood perfectly.

The slums really were something else. Midgar was such built up place and feels so big prior to actually leaving to the open world. Not a place you'd want to actually live, but damn if they didn't create a distinct run down city, alive, and controlled by a big corporate entity. A lot of ff7 is phenomenal but the opening portions of the game are amazing and make the transition out of it even more so.

Precomputed backgrounds and real-time computed character models. Games like Final Fantasy 7 made this art style very common in the mid 90ies. I wonder how it would look like today with modern graphics. But the beautiful music in CD-quality has reached is full potential back then already, you can’t enhance it anymore, even with A. I. technology.
