Note James torques his upper body in order to disguise the option to hit the drop or the drive and still maintains his balance. The amateur by not torquing his upper body limits his options and is struggling to maintain balance while attempting to transfer his weight. Lots of practice is required to master this type of shot, early preparation and balance is the key. Best regards from Canada.

Great vid! “Club player” is a better term than “amateur”. “Amateur” is a condescending, patronising and elitist term and does not allow for any variation in player standard. It is also quite possible a professional plays an amateur shot and an amateur plays a professional shot, so a more durable term is needed please Squash Skills :)

Not really, amateur refers to someone doing something without getting payed for it, which is exactly what this guy is. For example in golf, there's plenty of prestigious amateur tournaments to win, e.g. US Amateur, so good players wait with receiving prize money in order to play in those. No-one that knows golf would see amateur as condescending, it is rather just a step in a process to become professional (if that's the intention).
