Great truck! Smart move installing ball bearings, I feel that all Tamiya rc vehicles need them!
@Triggered-RC6 ай бұрын
Helps them go faster and increases battery life. But if you are building for a kid, or a kid is building, plastic is the way to go. No maintenance. Can let them get wet and stay wet.

This Tamiya would make a great mudbogger
@Triggered-RC11 ай бұрын
Not so sure about that. Open diff and independent suspension. Better off going with a crawler and then throwing bog tires on and giving it a bunch of power. Like what I eventually did with my TFL truck.

It’s an easy build and a fun truck to drive. You’ll likely spend more time on the body than the chassis lol

That color is sexy on that kit!
@Triggered-RC11 ай бұрын
Yeah. Tamiya should have used that color for their box art.

Hi, just bought one for my kid. His dampers are coming to position, not same problem than you. I had an extra tube of grease so we put a lot of grease (black one from tamiya). Our concern is more on the servo saver. The opened ring is made of hard plastic and broke directly afetr first use. So I am looking for a reinforced servo saver. I am not into RC hobby, so if you have any suggestion, that would be welcome. For teh time being we are using the second servo saver set for the rear steering system. Thanks. BR
@Triggered-RC4 ай бұрын
@@SaucissonDeGuerre The Tamiya high torque servo savers are a pretty good upgrade. You should actually have parts to build two of the standard ones in your kit as the Squash Van comes with the parts for 4 wheel steering.
@SaucissonDeGuerre4 ай бұрын
@@Triggered-RC Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes, we are using the spare ring that is supposed to be used for the rear wheels. For the Tamiya high torque, I will try to have a look, but any any recomemndations? Are there different ones, or can I take the first one I find?

Grind Hard is great. I honestly would rather be doing what they are doing. 1/10th scale is fun, but 1/1 scale is more fun 😂

Nice Video. But i think by the Friction damper you forget to put in the grease into the black hose . When you do this they came up complete without help.
@Triggered-RC11 ай бұрын
Could be. I do know that is a step in assembly and I remember doing it, but maybe I forgot. Anyway, they are off the truck now, for good.

@@Triggered-RC thats the best way , oil damper are much better , i need also some . What damper you prefer for these truck? Are the tamiya upgrade damper good or not?

One thing it’s not lacking is a bunch of gears….100% wish they have gone clod sized with it though
@Triggered-RC9 ай бұрын
I’m happy with what it is. Basically a modern Monster Beetle / Black Foot. Much better right now than the GF01 imho. As far as a clod sized rig goes, I wish Tamiya would release a new monster truck. Maybe a TXT-3 or a new line. All they have to do is make the TXT-2 Agrios into the truck everyone wanted when that one came out. Hell Clod sized wheels on the TXT-2 would be enough out of the box.
@muddfoot699 ай бұрын
@@Triggered-RC would they fit on this truck as is? Curious
@Triggered-RC9 ай бұрын
@@muddfoot69 Not sure. Probably. You can mount clod wheels to the Blackfoot after all. However, the big wheels put a lot of stress on the arms and steering cups, so you usually end up with some problems there.

I expect this in real Triggered RC style to go fast 😉 I have seen a few Japanese YT videos of this and 4 WS on this is a waste of a servo. It tips easy
@Triggered-RC11 ай бұрын
I have upgraded it. It goes fast now. Transmission is still silky smooth though. Really impressed. Thinking of making a Nissan King Cab version of this rig… if the replica body fits and I can get a hold of it and decals etc. Yeah 4WS is a waste if you wanna go fast. If you watch Cold Buster racing, no one uses 4WS for a reason.

I put the BZ super stock in a few Tamiya kits. Super fast. Still though, gonna try the Max 10 combo. The transmission is so smooth and solid, I have to try. To be honest though, it’s super fun on the stock silver can.

I used foams for the GF01. They were a bit wide but still fit.

I love the new body but that platform is awful. The only way it’s acceptable is on the 6x6 versions but as a 4x4 that suspension setup is rough.
