Did the striker hit the ball back to themself? No. Was there interference? Yes. Could the returner have got the ball (i.e. the ball was not a winner)? Yes. Did the returner take a correct line to the ball? Yes. Did the returner make sufficient effort? Yes. Did the striker give the returner a clear path to the ball (i.e. there was no blocking)? No. Conclusion: Asal hits a tight but returnable ball but blocks Elias' line to the ball. Stroke to Elias.

Regardless of the level of player, giving your opponent a fair play on the ball is the question. Unfortunately this concept is not very well respected at all levels of play and referee's calls can become controversial.

At that level, there's no reason to believe Elias wouldn't be able to get that off the wall. It was tight, but like John says, he was there to play. Maybe at a lower level you'd give a yes let? At this level, looks a stroke to me.

The winning shot aspect comes into play when they have access to the ball, this stroke is due to a clear line of access not being given once the shot is made
