If Ramy had stayed healthy his entire career, we would be talking about him in the same breath as Jahangir and Jansher, that's how talented he was. Unfortunately, injuries were his curse. One of the saddest things in the history of sports IMO.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ramy when he visited squash-academy I play at… we had a good 2 hour dinner with him and 2 other adults and some 10-12 kids(both my sons were there). He had already retired by then. I asked him about of of the games after he came back from injury..he laughed ‘Which one because I have always been coming back from injury.) A very nice relaxed kid(well he is 16years younger)… and intelligent too. He had very specific ideas on how to make squash more popular.

I am with no doubt a fan of Ramy!! But Matthew has improved a lot and even though Ramy has been injured, then I actually think taht Matthew is reaching a very high level!! He is starting to become a complete player! I think that he deserved this tournament victory!

Ramy is back. He got to the final in his first tournament for about 3 months (something like that). Looking forward to his next tournament and that he'll be back in Sweden next year.

Matthew has great recover so he likes shield, but Ramy is spear.. During last years, Ramy was sufferd by hamstring, while Matthew has been more sturdy shield than ever.... I really look forward to seeing their match where their condition're 100% I thought whoever win a game, I really like top 10 players... Because time is so fast.. then we don't see their plays.. every match deserve treasure...

Congrats to Nick, he deserved the victory, I´m especially glad that he succeeded against Ramy, where he had some problems in the past. Great achievement after the lost 1st set - here a proof of Nick´s mental strength. Once again - great to see such a balanced level of the top 10 players, I´m sick of glorifying one or another player - nobody is perfect, there is no "best" player nowadays, no dominance (like in the Khan´s time) and that is good!

I wonder how dominant he would’ve been with a healthy hamstring. Such a big talent and hugely missed on tour

Ramy would have been by far the best player, greatest player ever, had injury not brought his carrier to an early end.!!!

Why do they 'rub' the walls with their arms in between rallies?
@jcabadia10 жыл бұрын
To dry your hands from the sweat. They get sweaty and slippery and the grips slick, so in between points we rub our hands against the walls to dry them up

6:03 Ramy grimaces while his moving backward to the T, then he walks little bit awkwardly for a few seconds, doesn't he? I think he's not fully recovered from the injury. It is almost impossible to beat Ramy in 100% condition, but it seems like that he will suffer from the injury all through his remaining career... :(
@pavolhomola7710 жыл бұрын
This is the problem of nowadays superhero mentality being nourished by the media. Take Federer - he was also considered to be unbeatable in 100% condition - yet Nadal and Djokovic found a way how to beat him. Ramy is definitely beatable. Of course he is talented, of course he is playing a top notch game, but so do another players. There are new players coming - e.g. Shorbagy - I bet in a year or two he will be able to beat Ramy regardless what his condition will be. It is simply illusory to say that a particular player is almost impossibly to beat - but from psychological point of view it is understandable. Men need idols and leaders.
