Poor Coll hasn't been the same since he turned world #1. Been consistently losing in the quarter finals or semis.

I honestly think last year's elongated season at the commonwealth games as been his undoing. I think he'll come back strong next season with a proper off season.

That's really not a bad thing. He did pull off a good consistent streak to win the Canary Wharf. So far this year he's only lost to the #1 contenders (Elias, Farag, Mo), and Makin, but Makin's showing some incredible form this year.

Colls need to kill the shots when the opportunity arises - he not only fail to kill them but they come back too easy for his opponent - seems to be happening in the last few tournaments. He also need to position properly to kill them - positioning meaning he can use this to block off the opponent in the process........still behind him to crawl back to the top! - not giving up on you warrior, can do this!!

Coll's lost his hunger (Naturally, it takes alot more to stay at WR 1 than reaching it!). He needs to reinvent himself to reach and stay in the top 3 consistently in the near future.

@@mh-lw1oe 1. Does being entertaining pay the bills (ie. winning matches)? 2. Think of the best 2 players at your club, do you enjoy watching them playing a match? If yes, think that they possibly have 30-40% (and probably overestimating, probably closer to 20%) the skill and entertainment value of Coll, and your perspective will change.

Coll was absolutely lackluster. Just relying on his cardio and opponent’s mistakes to win games rather than his own winners. Took 0 risk, not interested in killing the ball everytime the opportunity came, and horrible drops. Gonna drop off the top 5 if he doesn’t make serious changes. Don’t know if he/his coaches don’t realize what is obviously lacking in his game.

I agree. Coll was never the most creative player but he lacks accuracy totally atm. Dropshots are way too bouncy and hitting nicks unsuccessfully. Being world nr 1 and beating Faraq several times he was a different player.
