1:00:50 may be a soft let in hindsight but surely earn a gentlemen's safety let. But the commentator (PJ? ) repeatedly instigating this could be a no let""and dissaggre with video ref decision eventually. . If we don't award a safety let , in 20 to 30 more of such incidents will arise a mis-judgement of either racquet or ball onto opponents face. Pls be a more responsible commentator and ambassador of safe squash please !!

if that were true then wheres the 50 yr old in the top 20, dont tell there arent any 50 yr old sportsmen interested in competing at top 20 or even top 50 in the world for sports like tennis badminton and squash? its close to impossible unless u want to have health issues. indeed u could play at world class for 1 match if u were 50. what the commentators are referring to is the fact that Miguel is still playing at that age as a professional which is brutal considering matches are day after day and sometimes tournaments are almost weeks in row to get that ranking. dont forget they may have phyiscal and squash training almost everyday in between competitions. a 50 yr old wouldnt be able to recover properly with that schedule. even a 35 yr old is likely to have issues compared to a 25yr old.

Why do Egyptian players ALWAYS do these gamesmanship actions during matches??? Men AND women. Call it for what it is - cheating. Not playing the ball and then calling for strokes when they could have had a shot off. They have enough skill and nous and ability to win without doing this but yet they pull this crap all the time. It really puts me off their squash in general, as excellent as it is, because its one on one - not difficult to do the right thing on a small court is it? Sadly why I never root for them at all - if they cut it out that would be a start. They aren't the only ones who do it I know, but on average Egyptians do it enough to call it a trait of their game. Wish the refs would nip this stuff in the bud to be honest.

I think strokes are part of the game, and if you want to take the risk of stroke (because you never know for sure what the ref will say) vs taking the shot (which is in your control) that wouldn't bother me. Some players do pay the price for it though, like Fares Dessouky who often decides to go for risky stroke calls at crucial game points and often loses the point because of it.

@@gamolly yes strokes are part of the game obviously... but as the commentary points out, if you can get a shot away then take it because when you LOOK for lets or strokes in a calculated premeditated fashion its pretty clear to all of us what the goal is. Strokes and lets should be a consequence of play while making every effort to make a shot AND vacate the space, but trying to turn it into a point deliberately actually disgusts me. I've played for over 30 years and that's just my feeling on this issue. Its the same as football players rolling around looking for a penalty.
