Ngl this reminds me of when I first started lifting back in 2021 hahaha low bar 5x5 3 days a week... But after the years for some reason I found myself more confident in high bar (+ big influence of your videos + olympic lifting). Felt more tight and why not visually more aesthetic imo 😅

Yeah toshiki was doing 75%-80% at the beginning then he kept adding weight as he went on.

@@IvanDjuric300 he did say he did almost nothing during the block except train squats and rest. He also added he gained a bit of weight for the heavy squats. I tried it for a bit and the 5x5 is not the hard part it is the back off 3x10 with 1 minute rest that killed me.

Ayo Ivan's winter arc - low bar squatting, haha. Quite shocking to see after seeing you high bar for years, boss. I think I'll never low bar again until I get a wider rack. Current rack is 43" wide, IIRC - would be nice if I had something that's at least 47" to accommodate my grip width. The narrow rack is killing my shoulders, elbows, and progress, haha.

You look way more comfortable squatting like that. You'll be hitting PB's in no time.

Would you be open for trying a belt? I think belt makes even more sense for low bar, due to the strain on the lower back.

Ivan i love your videos mate. I was wondering would it be better to have a couple blocks where there is a good volume day and couple back off days with low volume like 50% effort of the volume and repeat for a couple weeks then go back to 1 heavy singles.

Yeh that would be good. I did that earlier this year. For a block of amraps. I went crazy twice a week. The rest of the days were super light.

@IvanDjuric300 I am thinking of doing squats everyday for 2 months to get back in shape as I been a bit inactive due to job and life. Thinking for doing 1 heavy single and dumbbell work.

Have you considered trying to hold horse stance with 40-60kg for 10-20 seconds after the 5x5? You would really feel what is lighting up in hips with a little bit of weight at an awkward position. Maybe consider after 2-3 weeks of this training
