Thank you Laurel, yes if you get the screw through the floor and into the stud, drive it home and it will make a loud pop. If it doesn't pop off, then back the screw out while pulling up on the jig. Use a smaller drill bit on a new hole, repeat, it should pop right off. Good luck!

Hello BG I was curious during this video that there wasn't an extra hand in it??? The boxes HMMM usually humans put stuff in them to carry things from one place to another. That solution was pretty slick. Hopefully the screw heads aren't obvious, although I would see them every time I walked across the floor. That rug will fix that. I'm going to guess that you are moving out! You won the lottery and you are having a Newell being built to your specifications!

The screw heads pop off so you don't see them, the screw left in the floor is only visible if you get down on the floor and look for them, brilliant solution. The jig is necessary to pull the floor tight against the framing stud tight enough until the torque pop the top of the screw off. Clever. You got a crystal ball over there? ;)

Ya it worked out pretty good, back filled those visible holes, can't see em now unless you get down on the floor. I've got extra tiles too, going to hang on to those should I need to do a real repair. Big changes ahead ;)

Great video and the kit seems really good, just have a few doubts about doing it, just bought a new fifth wheel and have a spot that squeaks really bad on the hallway right before you get into bedroom and bathroom, i noticed it does it worse now that weather is cooler. just afraid of drilling into any utility under subfloor if i miss the joist. I cant find a brochure with diagram of my unit. It’s a 2022 crossroads cameo 3961mb, any ideas of where i can find it? Thanks

Tried this on my linoleum before I install a new floor over it and it fixed the squeaks! But one of the screws snapped off 1/16 inch above the floor! Any suggestions how I can fix that?

Interesting....my only concern would be if eventually over time it would work itself out, however my guess it shouldn't because it's screwed in.... also what would you use to patch the holes... safe travels

Pick up a tiny tube of color matching patch putty. The holes drilled where the screw popped off can bearly be seen unless you get down on the floor. I'm sure they won't work themselves back out, at least not in my lifetime lol

I would think that there would be more of a hole by drilling the pilot hole than just using the screw. I doubt the framing is hardwood.

Didn't want to risk the screw top snapping off too soon due to the extra torque, threads sticking out say 1/8 inch, not fun.

Yes I wasn't sure if they were aluminum down below or not because everything else is, that's why I pulled up the diagram. This stud finder also incorporates electrical detection to prevent drilling into a wiring harness passing through. Out or In, that is the question ;)
