I’ve been practicing this technique lately and it is very difficult to master. I’ve found that using a lot of paint putting very little pressure on the squeegee as I pull works best. The key is to let each color rest and set up a little before you put the next layer on. This creates those beautiful islands when the under layer is pulled to surface.

You need to support the canvas underneath to keep the canvas flat, no hollow spots allowed.

You need to practice a couple more times. There is a need to be careful of not using to much dark color paint because the dark colors will over power the light colors. You also need to keep in mind the colors you put side by side need to blend well together.

I've actually been excited to try this...before I saw your video. Lol I'm going to have to rethink the process now.

It is much easier practicing on a larger mat because you can go over your work more.

Works best on paper , not canvas.

squeegee painting is not painting... that's like saying taking a family photo with a poloroid is professional portrait photography.
