Enjoy one of the most impressive steals of the 2021/2022 Season; probably the best if it wasn't Round 1.
18:28 Neal Foulds: "What a shot! Well, it's an incredible turnaround. He's not won the frame yet, but he just flipped the switch, Dave. Isn't it?"
The match was played one day after O'Sullivan's 46th birthday, on Monday, December 6th 2021.
Ronnie O'Sullivan vs Dominic Dale, 2021 Scottish Open - Last 128.
The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match.
Cesar Muroya created a unique editing format to extract the essence of the game without losing the drama involved. Contextual information is also an innovation appreciated by viewers.
This format is not intended to substitute the full version but make snooker more accessible to new fans. The fluency and atmosphere of the game stay in a shorter-length video, allowing even experienced fans to enjoy snooker at any time.

A ref who is quick to bend way over (due to a short reach length) and reach to place the balls quickly and accurately, while not getting in the way of anyone lining up their next cue stroke, is highly appreciated at any level of this sport.

Well Dominic had a fair chance of taking the 5th frame but it was not to be. You have to respect his attitude though...still smiling in the face of defeat. He is a fine ambassador of the game and his composure is admirable which is why he remains one of the classiest players on the circuit.

The flow is very important for someone like O'sullivan. He likes to play with speed and don't like to overthink. So when he gets the momentum there and controlling the table, he start dominating.

I am new to watching this game. Take my commentary with a grain of salt. If there is one weakness in Ronnie’s game, it’s the long shots. Some players are great at those, while Ronnie seams average at best. If he could sink the long balls, he would probably never lose.

For those wondering, as per Wikipedia: "The day before tickets were due to go on sale, the Emirates Arena in Glasgow informed the World Snooker Tour that the venue would not host an event sponsored by a betting company. Unable to find a suitable replacement venue in Scotland, the organisers moved the event to Wales."

Dominic at his best is a very good all round player who handles the pressure pretty well, just look at the 2 ranking titles he won back when all there was was 8 ranking events a season and 4 other non ranking in compared to today prime O'Sullivan,J.Higgins and M.Williams would all have over a 100 tournaments won even with having to compete with each other hendry, hunter, stevens, bingham, ebdon, Doherty, white, davis and parrot. So I have to give Dom his due.

This is so typical of O'Sullivan: his game only becomes brilliant when it needs to. He plays mediocre snooker until the match is in danger of being lost. With Dale that is not until Dale has won several frames. With Higgins, Robertson, Trump, Selby, and perhaps a couple of others, O'Sullivan plays his best from the start, if he can. With the much lower ranked players he often plays much less skillfully until the last couple of frames.

I can't play snooker. Here in northeast Texas it is at least 100 miles of heavily traveled highways to the nearest pool hall with a snooker table. Were I to make that long round trip, the one or at most two snooker tables either would be tied up all night, or there would be no one in the building willing to play, or those willing to play would be top tier player/gamblers who would see me as an easy payday for them.. Bummer, but thanks to KZbin I can watch world-class snooker almost every day. Then again, in six weeks both of my eye surgeries will be fully healed, and depending on how my game progresses on my home 8' pocket billiards table I may just give those sharks a try. It's only money.

One more win at the crucible and I'll be grinning like a Cheshire cat. That's all that's missing, just one more! Nobody would be able to argue on the old GOAT situation then. Trump's going to eclipse his century total at some point, definitely, and his ranking title record! Selby has a chance at 7 world titles in my opinion, hate his shameless style but it's oh so effective, and bears fruit so often. In the next 10 years snooker's going to be a completely different game! The top 16 will probably be an equal split of British and Chinese players. Maybe even a Chinese majority?! In the same way England gave football to the world and Brazil showed everyone how to play, it's going to be the same in snooker
