Outstanding Video!!! A true pleasure to watch. Andy, you are Mr Every Man, the guy down the street, the neighbor, the butcher, the baker, the mechanic etc. You represent the common man from your easy unassuming voice to your worn but efficient boat and equipment. You seem very knowledgeable. Wisdom gained, no doubt, from countless hours on the water, doing what you love. You still have that boyish excitement when you hook a fish. A rare quality in most adults, lost to mortgages, deadlines, debt, striving for promotion and keeping up with the neighbors. Tragic circumstances which could be significantly mitigated with a hook and line. Don't change. Watching your videos feels like going fishing with an old buddy, escaping the pressures and rigors of everyday life. It's priceless. I rarely comment on anything but this video struck a chord within me and you deserve high praise as a consequence. I used to have a boat on the Pacific. It was a 20 foot friend to my young family and I. 6, 4 and 2 year old kids fishing, crabbing and beach combing. I still recall the look on their Mother's face when we returned home with buckets of large Dungeness one day and proceeded to race them across the kitchen floor. Such memories are the stock of our lives and invaluable. You prodded me to recall them. Many thanks.

That’s very cool. I like it when my videos bring back memories like that. Even just walking in the bush or a shallow ocean flat is very rejuvenating for me. I never lost the wonder to try and understand everything around me. Some people don’t even realise they have lost it, I find that sad.

To catch a squid is on my bucket list. I have tried many many times with no luck. It's something I want to happy because it's my earliest memories of fishing with my Dad. An 8yr old girl happy to sit for hours on the mossy cold rocks holding a torch and soaking up every second!!
@Andysfishing4 жыл бұрын
You can do it! I wish you luck, try nights without moon and a bright light above the water and cast into the darkness.

Thank you, Andy, for bringing back some wonderful memories for me. My mom and I were the only 2 people in our family who loved to eat breaded and deep fried oysters. (None of us liked squid) I can remember how grown-up it made me feel when I was about 4 years old and she taught me how to do everything but fry them. How I loved getting all that gooey goodness on my tiny fingers and hands as I dredged and dipped each oyster in each bowl, my mouth watering, knowing how tasty they were going to be once they were cooked. It was one meal we enjoyed immensely because we knew we wouldn't have to share any with all the boys! I was having a really rough day today but this video brought a smile to my face and cheered me up! Thank you again!

Hello! Certified landlubber here (Alberta, Canada, about as far from the ocean as you can get). First off, love your videos and keep up the awesome work! Secondly, what danger do those sharks pose to humans? Couldn't get a good look at them but they didn't seem very large, so my guess is they're pretty harmless. But for example, would you feel comfortable going for a swim off the side of your boat in that area?
@chickentube22295 жыл бұрын
Even small sharks like that can be deadly, people don't understand how formidable of a predator any shark can be. When a shark is hungry it will attack you, no matter the shark, even generally timid wobegong sharks are known to be aggressive when hungry and do attack humans. Additionally the sharks can attack out of defence and they have thousands of electromagnetic receptors on their nose which can detect even the slightest elevation of heart rate, this can turn calm timid sharks into a feeding frenzy. The same story goes for blood, with sharks being able to detect 1 part per 25 million or 10 billion, which is about 1 eye-dropper of blood to 1000/2000 litres of water Even though those sharks are black tip reefs and are generally very dosile, if they felt threatened or smelt blood, or decided that Andy was panicking they could attack as a pack. Black tip reef sharks are known to be pack hunters and if there is one of them around there will generally be another 10-15 (yes that many) lurking around somewhere close sleeping during the day. Additionally when a shark bites it triggers a response amongst the other sharks that you are food. Any feeding frenzy triggered by the sharks would attract larger sharks to the area, this could mean larger black tip reef sharks or even tiger sharks or bull sharks which are much larger and more aggressive than black tips and are scavenger sharks. In essence, yes you could swim with them and have fun, but if you overstayed your welcome or made a mistake, you may end up fish food to a bigger shark, or even worse trigger a feeding frenzy which even with those small sharks would leave serious lacerations to your extremities and so far away from any hospital you could bleed out and die.
