when Inho stops and says “are you saying that we make a small sacrifice for the greater good?” i felt absolutely defeated 😭 bc we, as the watchers, knew that Inho, somehow, wanted to prove a point through all of this ! there was no way he was going to go all the way to the top with Gihun. what a sinking feeling

Inho has been analyzing Gihun, remember that they made a bet in the limousine, he said that humans can be hungry beasts that don't care about anything and GIHUN said the opposite, while he was with them you could even see a certain part of humanity in him, but in a way he was DISAPPOINTED to see Gihun set his goal of going to catch the frontman sacrificing human lives, That's the moment Gi-hun lost it. The Games got to him. The Gi-hun from Season 1 would never have sacrificed all those people. He looks more like the leader now. The leader knows this too. Look at his face when he said "sacrifice yourself for the greater good." It seems like he meant "I was so hoping you'd show me that you're different and that I made a mistake in the past, but you're just like me."

To be fair, those lives Gi-Hun “sacrificed” are the people who want to continue this game and even try to kill Gi-Hun’s team to secure the votes. So whether Gi-Hun wants to sacrifice them or not, they will die anyway.

While In-ho wanted to prove Gi-Hun wrong, there was some part of him that was hoping the opposite would happen, that Gi-Hun would prove In-Ho. However, that didn't happen.

⁠@@Psydankto prove what? not making any sacrifice only continues the game, which would cost even more sacrifices. even in the first game gi hun tried his best and people still panicked. but no no you can't fight back people that are killing you because you will be "just like the bad guys"!

​​@@GenerationOchi The Mingle scene where they reunite after getting separated genuinely made me shed a tear, until then I'd perceived the son as a bit of a meh character but he won me over in that moment. Just this raw unfiltered mix of relief, guilt and resolution (to never put money before his mom's safety ever again). What makes it even more heartbreaking is that the actor revealed that he was actually thinking about his own mother who he never got a chance to apologise to 😭
