Met mike on the south coast a few days ago using these tips in real life...amazing knowledge and he was catching some big southern calamari! Gave me some great tips on basic fishing :)

Awesome video mate ! I must say that I have been one of those guys standing in front of a rack of jigs scratching his head trying to work out what colour to buy on more than one occasion! I will write this info down so when I go next time I have a basic guide to start from - thanks!

I’ve been in that situation myself up until I noticed which jig colours worked and also spent countless hours researching information until I got I right. Glad you liked the video and I do hope you’ll nail a lot more Squid.

Informative 👍 I have a tip When recording place the sound mic away from the wind or baffle it. Damm hard on the ears with the wind scratching the mic 👍

Thank you for the tip, I’ll be looking into getting a go pro camera and a laptop to be able to edit videos properly. If this video is hard to watch due to the wind I’ll make another one at home.

Would you normally use 3.5 off wharves and other areas also or just off the rocks? I know where this spot is and caught a few squid last night in another nearby area, wasn't targeting them but saw them following my soft plastics

I would use the 3.5 off the rocks only, off wharfs u would use 2.5 and smaller on a paternoster rig for Arrow Squids.

The eight of my lures is 21 grams, in terms of colours, red tape and gold tape jigs are my pick.
