The Hall of the Valkyries is a building where you progress to the top via the stairways and make it to the room where you'd fight the Valkyrie boss, in which you originally have to first collect the medallions to prove your worth to the boss. The boss room is at the top and it consists 2/3rds of the upper floor, so I have no idea how the hell you missed an ENTIRE boss room whilst destroying the building in the process.
