I actually like the sunburst color, but that blue you changed it into looks awesome.

I have 11 guitars a this current time, and 6 of them are blue... I may be a little biased about blue, but I do realize that everyone has their preference... Whatever color your instrument is, I know it's got great potential... These are simple great guitars and super affordable!

I was pissed at first cause I also have a 40th anniversary, but did not see any that looked like that. It looks great and wish they had made a version like that.
@RaymondLandis Жыл бұрын
Maybe you can try out a project to refinish it the way you'd like to have it... There's also the option of getting another body and transplanting all the components to a body with the color you like...

I've got a 40th Anniversary Jazzmaster and it's freakin great. I think the pickups don't quite give you all she's got when you really wanna dig in but i plan to put some good pickups in it and it's gonna give me back what I put into it and the playability is amazing for such a price. It actually has it's own feel and thing goin and I quite find anything wrong with it. The finish on the neck is a bit sensitive but if you like relicing, it should do quite nicely for you.

I have the sonic blue 40th Stratocaster. I have no need to mod. Great as is. However, I had to loosen the springs a bit for stiff tremolo. Very happy with my choice.
@RaymondLandis11 ай бұрын
Yes, it seems that these usually come with the lighter weight trem block and they are screwed tight to lay flat on the body of the guitar. GFS has a nice upgrade that fits nicely and has a brass block. But if you keep it decked, that's not necessary to upgrade. I didn't upgrade mine either, but just kept it decked and it stays in perfect tune!

Great job on the video. Cool to hear your insights on these guitars. I love the “denim” finish. Fun stuff. Actually, I too didn’t like the “wide burst” finish all that much when I first saw it, but it’s kind of grown on me as I continue to see it online. It’s certainly different.😉 I also have one these Strats (in Sonic Blue) and absolutely love it. It really is the perfect guitar for my living room noodling and, yes, the pickups sound great! I haven’t done much work on mine yet, but, unfortunately, it arrived with some fret sprout, so I’ll have to fix that eventually. Frankly, I’d rather play it than mess with it. Anyway, have fun with the mods you have planned.👊

Thanks again for the encouragement! I am hoping to bring a follow up video soon. I finished the mods that I spoke about and the instrument is even better... Kept the pickups because they sound so good! But all the wiring and electronics are now top notch and there's a blender so all three pickups can be played; or the bridge and neck together in varying degrees to allow for that classic Telecaster sound too!

I bought the Seafoam Green 40th Anniversary Strat and man o man I am impressed. It is better than my Player Series MIM, especially the neck. I will probably change out the Trem, but I plan on keeping everything else stock. BTW, I love the shirt.

Yeah, the neck is so nice... I've been shopping for necks for some other builds I'm working on, and I've searched for Squire necks because they're potentially some of the best... I bought a Classic Vibe Strat Neck from Stratosphere on Ebay... Thanks...the shirt was a gift... God is good! Acts 2:38!

Nice review! Thanks for taking the time to go over everything on your guitar. The Vintage 40th Anniversary Squiers are super cool, in my book. Incredible value with those discounted prices. I grabbed the J bass, the Strat, and the Tele. Very happy with all of them. The Tele is especially good.

Raymond, what a lovely room you have there.... How I wish my girlfriend played guitar, instead of closing the open pages of my tuition books and generally being discouraging! That burst you modified, isn't to everyones taste for sure... I really liked the seafoam green, with the bling gold scratch plate model... I'm too shy to be seen playing that though, so I quite like the subdued burst myself! Ha, maybe you should send that Squire to Billy Gibbons for when they play "Blue Jeans Blues" ! Great first video, you are natural ! ;-)

Not sure why anyone would purchase a limited edition 40th. anniversary guitar then ruin it. If you bought it at $299, you got a great deal. It's now $499 (US). But, it's your guitar. 👍

That's the beauty of personal choice... It meant nothing to me in the state that I purchased it in. Now it is an instrument that I really like. I don't ever plan to sell it; only enjoy it for my lifetime. And by the grace of God, I will have it for years to come and to enjoy... I never looked at it in terms of an investment... But do appreciate your thoughts concerning this one... Stay blessed and thanks for watching! Your opinion counts!

@@RaymondLandis Exactly my point. Its your guitar brother. Check out the Harley Benton gear. I think for the money those are a great platform for mids. I'm a newbie, learning to play, so trying to umderstand this whole deal with expensive stuff versus cheaper items. But, I get it. I just figured a $600+ (CDN) guitar not the one to do anything but drop in mods so you could revert back if you ever wanted to give it away or sell it. Keep doing the vids. I appreciate it. 👍

What is the route under the pickguard, swimming pool? humbucker sized?
@RaymondLandis Жыл бұрын
Well, I did eventually open it up and replaced all the electronics with the ObsidianWire Strat Blender Kit and it sounds awesome when you use the bridge and neck together! The switch is very respectable now! The pots were small dime-sized pots and the switch was cheap. Now it's upgraded to a much higher spec. The routing is HSS capable... The middle pickup route is a little larger than usual but won't take a humbucker.
