I remember I got into a fight with my partner (well ex now lol) and he was supposed drive me home after a party but since he was mad he didn't. I was stuck and had to call my parents for a ride. Quite honestly that was the end for me, relationships include conflict and fights (some fights worse than others) but I remember thinking that if he really cared for me I don't know how he could let anger be the reason he does something hurtful like that. (it was such a stupid fight as well). You and Shane clearly have enough respect and love for each other that even in a fight you can still respect each other. I think if your partner doesn't help you or do the bare minimum for you during fights that's a red flag.

@Jake Anderson unfortunately that is a very toxic thought process that i truly hope you don't believe long term. Anger is a natural emotion, and it's what you do with it that matters. Working through it with your partner is realistic. Suppressing it, or nurturing an environment in which someone is never allowed to be mad is probably not very healthy

@@lilsamantha1 so you’re perfect and never roll your eyes and are always patient? Hannah is allowed to have emotions and express them, she should not be expected to be this ray of sunshine all the time- especially if her husband has done something that upset her. She helps with his care but but that in no way should ever invalidate her feelings; she should be able to express that she is upset when she is upset. It’s so ignorant and dehumanizing to say something like ‘she can’t roll her eyes’. I roll my eyes when my husband upsets me; it doesn’t mean I don’t love him or wouldn’t help him if he needed it. Grow up.

For me it comes from Sept 11th. Im 30 now but I was in 5th grade at the time. And I remember they did and still use the "3000 went to bed that night not realizing their last morning was ahead of them." I heard that mantra my whole childhood and into my adult life that now I have paralyzing fear of not being on good terms with someone, spouse and otherwise, when they go to sleep or leave (for work, on a trip, etc). It's probably healthier not to be gripped by fear 😅 but what do ya do. I think sleeping it off does help if you are able to! Taking any sort of break, getting a breather, distancing yourself is good.

I also hink it's a lot to do with having a bad night and sleep is not worth it. It can carry on so much longer by letting it drag out. Someone I was with would always do this and I wouod have so much anxiety and worry that didn't need to happen. I'd either sleep very little or not at all and it is much heavier on your body and mind plus having to lay next to someone and feel that bad energy is awful. Very unnecessary in my opinion... and def builds resentment for letting someone feel like garbage or bottle things in all night etc . Ugh very toxic that relationship was ... is... not even sure anymore.

Very honest and transparent! So relatable. We all fight. So good to hear how you work thru it. Your unconditional love shines thru in your giving one another permission to feel your feelings but to still manage the caregiving….even if there’s a bit of sass or snippy attitude! 🤣😉. You two are the real thing! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Just love you two. I think communication is the key in any relationship, I tried never to go to bed angry either with my ex, but it didn't work. I can't sleep if I have a fight with my partner or anyone else for that matter, so I prefer to resolve things, but that's not always the best sometimes. It's just better to come back to unresolved stuff in the morning. Shane, I'm sure Hannah will let you order from Amazon if you promise to always read reviews. I always read reviews, although I've still bought some products that didn't work as advertized. Keep up the great work you two, just love you. Dolores

I say that! Never go to bed angry. My cousin and her mom were arguing one night before she went to bed. They went to bed angry. Her mom had a heart attack in the middle of the night and died. Noone knew until the next morning when she didnt get up like she usually did, went to check on her and she was cold. My cousin has so much guilt from that. And ever since we all say never go to bed mad ❤

I hate going to bed angry, I can't sleep unless the fight is solved. But when I fight with my partner it's usually because he is too tired to listen to me and so we have to go to bed angry when we fight. It's awful but we usually end up reconciling in the middle of the night after he's had some sleep.

It is found in the Bible, Ephesians 4:26-27. Be angry but don't sin. Don't let sun go down on your anger. It reads slightly different in each translation. But I do understand that getting in to deep discussion in the middle of the night is not the greatest time to resolve things.

You guys are terrific! I wish my husband and I had the emotional maturity you both have early on in our marriage. We spent way too much time arguing in the middle of the night thinking that “we shouldn’t go to bed angry.” What a waste. We had to learn that did not work for us. It is much better for us to get some good rest and plan on having the discussion at a better time.

Oh I did something similar I had gotten off the phone with my abusive ex and threw my phone in a fit of rage and shattered my phone into a bunch peices. One second after it hit the floor, it hit me like a ton of bricks that I just shattered my entire livelihood because all of my contacts, texts about appointments, and My ability to get ahold of my clients was gone and I was super poor so replacing the phone was a hardship. It really taught me to check myself and assess potential damage to the potential catharsis.

Liese Lemay yeah, like you, my “shattering” days were very short lived thankfully! Contemplating and clearing up all the damage after one impulsive move definitely gives you the chance to cool down and see how unhelpful that kind of tactic is. Was most definitely a learning experience for me and taught me to keep my temper in check. On a side note, though, I hope you tossed that abusive partner away for good! That would be a throw-away I would 100% encourage!! 🚮

The beginning with Shanes expired food rant😂 ok, so im a widow(he died young) and like 5 years ago, my husband was eating some golden crisp cereal. I see him take a bite. Make a face. Take another bite and then dramatically run to the sink, spitting it out, rubbing his tongue with a napkin and being so dramatic😂 Apparently, mixed in with his golden crisp cereal, was chunks of WOOD. And the first bite, he was suspicious and the second bite confirmed, definitely wood. Why the hell would you take a second bite when youve just tasted wood?!? At first I think hes just nuts. And when he poured the entire contents of the brand new box out, i was like "yes, hes nuts" and then i looked....and there's splintered pieces of wood mixed in with the cereal, its hard to notice at first because of the color similarity. Theres no hole on the outer box, but theres a hole in the plastic bag the cereal is in. Hes like what the actual hell, how?!?! He CALLS post cereal. They are also perplexed, probably because hes laughing as he explains😂 but also because wood isnt a ingredient in their cereal. A few days later a KIT arrives in the mail from Post. A bag labelled EVIDENCE is inside the kit. My husband was far too excited about the "CSI looking crime scene kit" they sent for some pieces of wood and the cereal box. We get a call a few weeks later and are informed that in the factory, the bags of cereal are put on like wood palettes and before it was boxed, it was somehow stabbed by the wood palette and the palette splintered off into the cereal. And then they mailed us two coupons for 50 cents off our next box of golden crisp cereal. Which he could never eat again, because he was dramatic AF and said the taste of wood would always linger😂😂 He literally complained about his mouth tasting like wood for days and made me look for splinters in his tongue.

I purchased frosted animal cookies with sprinkles for my daughter (when she was 2) I poured some out on her tray and went about my business cooking. She screamed and started crying, when I turned around she had blood all over her lips. Long story short, shards of super thin, like lightbulb glass, was all over them. To this day, I can’t pass by them in the grocery store without cringing.
