Thanks to you and the squirrels, I fed a squirrel outside my building yesterday. I saw him when I was returning home. He looked a little thin to me, so I brought a plate and some walnuts downstairs. I was happy to see he was still outside when I returned. When he saw me approaching him, he ran up a tree. But after leaving the nuts in the plate under the tree, I walked a safe distance away and he ran down the tree and started eating. Two people walked by with their dog. But the squirrel returned each time to finish what was in the plate. I'm not sure if I'll see him again. But, hopefully will.

I’ve read that squirrels only live a few years in the wild but I think with a little help from us they can live much longer. I also really enjoy feeding the squirrels. They bring me a lot of pleasure and joy.

yeah me too, i have dozens of birds 2 birdbaths a few different types of bird feeders, 1 hummingbird feeder and i buy 5 lb bags of peanuts in shell and walnuts in shell and leave some out every day..they rely on us, i try to semi hide the squirrel nuts so the crows don't get em all but the squirrels know where i leave the nuts.

I know a cat which fears the squirrels 😂.well, really is a "princess" cat. They steal her food daily, trying to approach her and her reaction is simply be grumpy and call her slave (the "owner").

It's wonderful that Kiara is also accepting of the squirrels. She even relaxed her eyes, giving Bee the half open eye look which is a cats way of showing they are relaxed and content - not in hunter mode. My cat would not do so well.

I try and feed my squirrels late morning so that they have some energy to start their morning forage for their own food. I do not wish for them to be solely reliant on the nuts that i give them, being wild animals they do need to find food for themselves should i not be around to make their lives a little easier. My squirrels have such different personalities, am fond of them all and while i enjoy their antics i do try and ensure the remain wild and able to fend for themselves. I am wishing to supplement their normal food foraging as that really is in their best interests. Love your channel, how you can ascertain each ones name is a skill as i still have a difficult time for some of my friends! Cheers.
