Thanks so much for your kind words, Victoria! In another one of my videos (I can’t remember which one but I think it might’ve been the minimalist kitchen) I mentioned how I got sentimentally attached to an olive oil bottle. I'm debating whether I should get rid of a make up item that cost me a lot and that I bought while we were still living in the US....I know, it's silly...I don't use it. It's pretty though and I associate it with my US life. Argh! the struggle is real!!! And funny side note: our kids kept saying that the toothpaste here in France was too 'spicy' too! My MIL caught wind of that and send many (too many) Tom's children's toothpaste from US !

I am on my way to decluttering but my grandma instilled a trait in me that is hard to get rid of somethings… being conservative. I have so many items that are completely reusable but it seems redundant to just donate or sell? How can I just get over the fact that I need to throw it away?? Also, what is okay to just throw out? I have a TON of pencils and pens and other supplies that I just can’t seem to find what is the best way to part with them.
@AMcDub07083 жыл бұрын
I donate my pens and pencils. There is always a kid or someone who buys them. Grannies like buying them for a stash when grandkids come visit. It is perfectly ok to donate and sell your good, usable items. Remember, if you are hoarding something you aren’t using, you are actually being unfair to someone else who actually needs that item and would be so grateful to be able to have it, and relieved of the burden of paying full price for it.
@AMcDub07083 жыл бұрын
As an example: my friend’s parents lost everything in a house fire once and didn’t have insurance (not sure why, but that’s beside the point.) All they had was the clothes on their backs, and I mean that very very literally. They were SO grateful for the cheap thrift store in their area, as well as friends and family who donated their extra things to them so they could rebuild their lives.

🚪 🚪 🚪 Bathroom is a great area to do, since many of us don’t even consider this as a worthwhile project to do, right? We tend to hoard with many needed stuff that has already expired, items we think we need or that we plan to use but never do. Often, it is the cost factor that holds us back.
