For some time now, a new, previously unknown SRAM brake has been rumored in the paddock of the Downhill World Cup and the relevant Spyshot sections on the internet. Now SRAM is finally letting the cat out of the bag and presenting the new MTB brake to the public. Behind the name Maven lies a powerful decelerator that is primarily aimed at downhill, enduro and e-bikers. Accordingly, the SRAM Maven ranks above the SRAM Code in the American company's portfolio. The Maven does not replace the most downhill-heavy brake in the SRAM empire, but merely reduces its range of use slightly.
But what actually distinguishes the new SRAM Maven from the Code? Quite simply: significantly more power! According to SRAM, the Maven has almost 50 % more braking power than its established sibling. The Maven also has another exciting detail: SRAM uses mineral oil as the brake fluid here. Prices start at € 220 for the bronze version. The end of the scale is marked by the €360 Ultimate version.
