SRC 90, N&W 611, And N&W 475: Three Engine Action on the Strasburg RR

During the Second of weekend of the Reunion of Steam at the Strasburg Railroad, we attended one of the 6 Photo Charters. We arrived early to railfan as much as we could, and the beautiful crisp fall day was the perfect weather for that. Though this video is edited geographically, we first started at Esbenshade to see 90 then 475 work upgrade. Then we waited around Cherry Hill for about an hour to wait for 611 to leave, where we met some really awesome people. Then we went to Carpenters and filmed behind the graveyard. After that, we went to the Casey Jones for Lunch, and then got a shot of 90 from the watchtower. The opening shots of 90 at carpenters were taken during the charter. Lastly, with the sun setting over Lancaster County, we got one last shot of 90 working upgrade at Esbenshade again. It was a busy day, but a whole lot of fun!!
Strasburg 90 is the largest, youngest, and most powerful among Strasburg’s fleet. Built in 1924 by the BLW 90 is a one of a kind locomotive. The 95 year old 2-10-0 decapod began her service hauling Sugar Beet Trains, and became a favorite among the crews. In the 1950s, 90 only saw occasional use and was then retired in 1967. The Strasburg railroad purchased 90 shortly after her retirement.She was returned to service that same year, and has run ever since.
Locomotive #611 is a 4-8-4 J class steam locomotive built in the N&W's very own Roanoke shops in 1950. She ran for about ten years before she was retired but was bought back to service in 1982. She ran until 1994, and remained dormant again until 2013. The Fire-Up 611! campaign was started, then in 2015, the "Queen of Steam" herself ran under her own power, and has ever since.
Locomotive #475 is a 4-8-0 Mastadon-type Steam locomotive built in June 1906 of the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Norfolk & Western Railway. Her Firebox is underneath the cab, and the fireman must shovel coal from the tender deck. The Strasburg Railroad has given #475 many updates to make her run more efficiently. As of 2019, Locomotive #475 wears a middle headlight, original spark arrestor, and a 12 Inch N&W hooter.

I would like to ask. When you rode the C&TS did you ride the other train back or did the train go through a reverse loop or a y?

No problem. I ride from Chama to Antonito, and usually what they do is the two trains meet at the halfway point in Osier for lunch then you continue to ride the train the rest of the way. When i was there they were in the middle of the RGS 455 photo charter so the trains were turned around in the balloon loop at Osier and than went back the way they came so I had to transfer trains at Osier

Ok because I was actually think about going there next year and I was just thinking if the trains turn around at oiser and go back the way they came or if they just continue and bring them back the opposite direction the next day. Thanks by the way
