SRC Dash Bar Jeep TJ

Installing part of the smittybilt SRC cage kit on my 2001 jeep wrangler TJ. Talk a little bit about the dash bar and grab handles and what I am going to use it for. Hope you guys enjoy the video!

I put this kit in after I rolled my LJ lol It's pretty solid! The only thing I did was wrap some paracord on the grab handles.

I have been looking for the hardware you had for the dash bar and the grab handles. SRC dash bar doesn’t get me to where you are. Can you please tell me what you ordered and from where? I have an 05 rubi. And would love to have that dash bar and the grab handles. Looks great and functional.

I would only feel comfortable with a weld in cage to rely on in case of a roll over. For me this is for looks and being able to mount stuff to

Hey Kyle, you know if you fit the rear bars can you still fit a hardtop to it? I know yours is a soft too but just curiously asking cheers brady

Hey man! I would think so. The only issue I would think about possibly be the cover over the wiper motor on the back windshield might have to be modified for the bar that goes across the back of the roll bar

Hard Rock 4x4 makes one but at the time it was more expensive for just their dash bar unfinished than it was just to get the entire SRC kit

Do you believe there is any chance head impact into grab bar during collision would be an issue?

Think the airbag would hit you first. But its a TJ we are probably dead if its a bad crash lol

How come you went with this over the Rockhard bolt on cage?

I'm going to guess because this kit can be had on amazon for under $600 right now and it includes 7 pieces. The same kit from rock hard with all 7 pieces is more than twice the price.

Rear main seal?? If it is very easy fix, took me 6 hours in total. And about $100 after gasket and seal, and oil.
