Sreenivasa Murthy Sir, This is also one kind of archeological venture in the field of music. We are really blessed to have been able to listen to such a long back treasure of music. Repeatedly said, your service to music in general and lovers of music of Sri BMK in particular is tremendous. The music world is indeed indebted to your service forever. Namaskaram sir.

Balamurali Sir's Appa rama bhakthi always made me melt every time I heard it - so tender, so caressing, so full of the most deep, heartfelt emotions. This version is one of the best. I can barely move after listening to it! I also enjoyed the comments of the music connoisseurs who have written here. Thank you!

This is one of those Saint Thyagaraja's compositions where he makes a statement with absolute confidence and provides ample proof to substantiate it.The intention was aimed at those with wavering and undecided minds implying just not about the great virtues of Lord Rama but what the lord did to those who served him fervently. Delivering this fact in its true sense is what the gandharva Balamuralikrishna did in his indomitable style.His rendering is a testimony to what saint Thyagaraja was. Once again, I would like to say that the music fraternity who love these Thyagaraja's compositions found a Hanuma amongst us. That is Sri Sreenivasa Murthy. Thank you Sir and Pranamas. Krishna

Really I never heard this song by BMK I think we can't hear any apraamabhakti from any one except this. Heads off you Srinivasa Murthy Sir for this fantastic work

I always felt that Shri. BalamauraliKrishna himself was the 73rd Melakarta ,( i dont know to what to call that chakra that he belonged to), an embodiment and personification of all the 72 malekartas together...The ''mai" sahitya synchronized with the Prathi madhyamam swara is really tantalizing.....

You are indeed blessed. Thanks for sharing your reflections. This is akin to what BMK used to say " I don't know music, but music knows me!"
Murthy Sir, I can't thank you enough for this special track..with the master in full flow, have to say I sometimes envy your generation as you have been witness and party to some of the BEST in class that one can come across, but have to be more than happy that Rasikas like yourself are providing such gems for posterity. Regarding the audio, can the background hiss be subdued further and hereby looking forward to the full concert.
@SreenivasaMurthy7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comments. The hissing ( at the beginning of rAgAlApana of both BMK and ARS) has the same frequency band as that of some movements of the mridangam and khanjira. If we can bear with the hissing for a short period of time, we could enjoy Yella Venkateshwara Rao 's skill of playing some low frequency stokes on his instrument. Have made some iterations without hissing but not fully happy with the outcome.
