Be still and know thyself: To be still: Any mind-movement is counterproductive - Mind movement is EVERYTHING, even to try to focus back on yourself (the observer) is mind-movement. Just sit down and decide to do absolutely nothing and be not disturbed by anything (all just passes by). To know thyself: Observe the observer/perceive the perceiver/ be yourself/Explore the depth of perceiving (all synonyms). Do this and you will experience a difference. If you loose stillness or loose the observation of yourself or are distracted by anything, return to a relaxed state (with other words: repeat the process over and over and over again without any judgement, expectation whatsoever). The more often a day you will sit down and actually do this process, the quicker you will understand what it is about.

You aren't looking to get something, you are having the experience of pure beingness. We do this by being what we are, the seer and knower, the silent witness. We witness the witness. Perceive the perceiver. This experience silences the mind by showing that the perciever doesn't exist and giving mind no one to speak to. The mind will not speak to an empty house and will fall silent allowing for pure perception. We look into the nature of awareness to find there is no subject that is being aware yet awareness is taking place. Proves that all life is a dream and it is no ones dream and that only nothingness exists. Truth is paradoxical and silences the mind. It will still be there to use practically but will no longer take the attention out of the person. Observe the observer, see that there is no one observing and fall into the abyss as the abyss
