I am a Taiwanese, stay in Sri Lanka since january 2016 and probably will leave soon in end of 2017. This is really an amazing country, people are always smiling and enjoy the present life. Buddha, Dharma(philosophy), and monk are deepened not only into spirit of but also the daily life of people of Sri Lanka. Peaceful, joyful, and simple life are what all the people in developed country should learn from them. I love this country, and best wishes to the land and people here. This sound will remind me of thinking the days here after I left. Let's listen again. Thank you.

When translated into English, it becomes John-Peter & then my full Chinese surname in Roman characters. I did most of my senior studies in French universities. Pardon me if I mistake myself. I just stumbled on this site & I got very very puzzled by this Atypical Anthem of Sri Lanka whose Buddhism bears many similitudes to our Confucian Buddhism. Contrary to our Mainland or Taiwanese Anthem, their lyrics just professed Peace & Love, Compassion & Gratitude; That is all , as in our elementary teaching of Buddha. Dear Mr. Kwong, Thank you to your quick response. Regarding myself, I am 71 years, a retired professional male civil engineer and have been worked mostly in Taiwan as well as Thailand, Malaysia ( both east and west), Sri Lanka and mainland China during the past 45 years or so. I was a specialist hired by mainland company worked for Matara-Belliata southern railway construction project in Sri Lanka from 2016 to 2018. For more information about the project, you may wish to search from Yutube or Google. The nearly 3 years stay in Sri Lanka was really an unforgettable experience. You are correct, this is a country wide Buddhist nation with deepened worship people in daily life not partially if compare to Taiwan. They are happy and self satisfaction though the living standards are far less than French (I have been touring Germany, Netherlands, Italy but not French. I guess leading EU countries have same living standards). They can laughing from the beginning of the dinner 8 pm. up to 12 pm. plus singing and dancing. You are suggested to visit this country in future after COVID-19 is under controlled. Thank you again for your precious time to write me. Old retired man always have more time than the young man. It is really a lucky coincidence; I am born in 1948 as an Overseas-Chinese, not ABC but OBC, as it is formerly said. Officially I am retired in the financial sector but I am still managing the patrimoine left by my father & Grandfather. I do not mind having some idle correspondence or casual talks on the net. As u said Seniors have more time to spare & dwindle away. But it has to be done in a more discretionally manner i.e for example E-Mail. If you wish so, it is up to your mind or heart-content.
