He has the knowledge about multiple languages as per my knowledge, and he refuses to speak in any other language other than wadda language (a specific dialect similar to sinhala) just to preserve his heritage. I believe you met him. Oh and about the translation. This VEDHA S are commercialised. Now they sell tour packages to visitors. It's all fake and scam . Avoid doing tours to these vedha villages. Also in North East of the country you will find many former terrorists affiliated to LTTE TERROR GROUP BEFORE THE END OF THE WAR IN 2008. SOME OF THEM WERE REHABILITATED . BUT NOW MOST OF THRM ARE LIVING NORMAL LIFE .THEY HAVE LITTLE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MANNERS AND CIVILISED WORLD . This is awesome. Good for SL tourism industry. However who ever the organizers should have done this in collaboration with ministry of tourism. Thus, those institutions may have informed all Police stations and other responsible authorities on the event and that would have ease off most of the constraints and unforeseen. I think k that it is in collaboration with So Sri Lanka but I think that getting the police to lay off tourists might be too HUGE a job! 😅 There are hundreds of tourists driving around in Tuktuks and I think that it might not be possible to make every police officer do it… who knows though, maybe in the future! 😋

Aboriginals are the indigenous people of Australia. Sri Lankan indigenous people are called as weddhas.

Hey, we knew that they are called Vedda or Weddahs but to help others understand what that is we used the term aboriginal which we looked up and saw this: “inhabiting or existing in a land from the earliest times or from before the arrival of colonists; indigenous. "the aboriginal populations in Southeast Asia" It was new to us too, before this Tournament we thought that aboriginal was only used in Australia! 😁

Aboriginals have Dravidian origins and these Veddas people are clearly distinct from Dravidian origins. Just a clarification from an Australian who are basically from Sri Lanka.
