Was very suprised to see that the people in the background of this excellent video seem to be almost all from Western countries. India sends the most tourists to Sri Lanka, about 40,000 a month. Where were all the Indian tourists at these beautiful places you visited? Are we too busy on the Ramayana Trail and not interested in the world famous attractions?

There are so many beautiful and some mysterious places in sri lanka than a few common tourist destinations, where mostly highlighted. Mostly only locals and western foreigners visit. I think most of the indian tourists are not even aware... even in a most commonest place like Sigiriya, I've seen, Tourist are in a rush to climb the rock. They don't know even that rock palace is just only a small part of the acres of whole palace complex. Even when we locals visit Dambulla area sigiriya is just only one place in dambulla. When normally we locals take atleast 2-3 days to explore that area, visiting many places, rural villages, sailing canoes, hot balloon tours, swimming in the lakes there.. It's confusing when seeing some foreigners cover the whole country in like 1 week.

If you are visiting here in August, you can watch Kandy perahara ceremony. It's a good chance if u can come in august, you can watch it only in August in kandy. Many foreigners come to see that. Mostly many Indian tourists come to sri lanka, but they watch nothing rather than few common tourist destinations. Specially If you are coming to visit and enjoy in a range of beautiful places, at least come for two weeks or more. If you are coming for like 1 week you wouldn't be able to visit much places and spend time. Try to allocate atleast 2 weeks to spend here, then you can peacefully enjoy your stay here. Otherwise it will be just only a tired of travelling. If you need any more information about good places to visit in sri lanka, you can ask me. I'll help you.👍

I’m afraid I won’t be able to tell you much about the dambulla rock and elephant safari as I did not visit the place. Indian restaurants are not easy to find. But Sri Lankan food is close to indian cuisine.

If you going to colombo to benthota it is around 2-3 hr trip. If you hope some activities in Benthota, you must stay minimum one day in Benthota. Similarly, you can go Kandy to Nuwaraeliya within 2hr. Finally, yes you can book your train journey by online.

Usually for a journey with a layover flights, boarding passes are issued at the starting point. Please note you will have to clear the customs at the first entry point of your destination. Kindly re-confirm at the counter.
