SRI LANKA | Why DO WE NEED Turtle Farm? 🇱🇰

While being in the south of Sri Lanka, I wanted to visit and see turtles close up. Always when I surf in Hiriketiya, they would pop up to the surface of the water for a few seconds and disappear. So visiting this farm was an opportunity to see them and touch them. Also part of the visit, I made a donation so these beautiful animals have a place to live and a chance to survive.

Great video. So sad that there is such an impact from fishing and tourism on these beautiful creatures. Many years ago I had the incredible experience of sitting on the beach and watching turtles come in to lay their eggs on a full moon night. And then returning to the sea. So glad to see that people are doing this vital work. It was lovely to see you being so tender with these lovely animals, and also learning more about them. It’s an object lesson in the damage plastics can do. And boats. Btw look after your leg well, and hope it is better soon. Hope this video attracts more visitors to this great little project.

Harald Baldr went and gave a big donation to this sea turtle hatchery. JohnnyFD tried going here in early 2021, they demanded 50,000 rupees off him to film, that's US$176; on top of the entrance fee. It's left a sour taste in my mouth since then; but I'm glad they didn't demand such forced donation or whatever for you to film here and promote the conservation work they're doing.

Yes. You are correct. I'm from sri lanka. I also know that. In that time i also blamed to this lady. She totally spoiled harreld's donation. They try to earn money from this as a business. They promised to harreld to build a turtle reservation center and got money from him. But this lady do not do that and when johny came to this place she try to get more money from him without any shame. Now they correct their mistake and built a sea turtle conservation tanks. The turtle farm...such nice animals....You know Sir Davud, some people likes to eat their eggs in boiled salted water, give them strenght...i find it so terrible...these animals can be more than 110 years old! They are so wise, adorable and because of their uglyness they loooks soooooo Beautiful! And they talk with their eyes....You can read everything in their Eyes. They always looks so exhausted but they have innerstrenght! I love these creatures enormously!!

I have been following your videos from your Sri Lanka vlog's. Wonder whether this is the only turtle farm in Galle. Made famous by Harald Balder. But controversial as many KZbinrs complain about their exorbitant rates. Anyway hope you enjoy your experience and try to become like Harald.
