I feel that the idea that they have large amounts of stolen money is something like what they said about King Louis XVI during the French Revolution about storing food. As we know today, that wasn’t true. So in this case, it would have made sense as an accusation if Sri Lanka had been going on as usual. But, they went through lockdowns for almost two years which slowed their domestic production and increased expenses for health care related aspects and financial aid for those who were not working due to the lockdown or COVID. They also had no income from tourism during that time. So while there may certainly be some stolen cash, it is highly unlikely that it is anywhere even close to the deficit required. We are talking about money in the amount of what you would find in the Forbes top 10 richest people list. So I think it was likely a lie by whoever is masterminding the riots and protests from behind to rile people up.

We never had an issues with Tamil or Muslim or Sinhala friends and we are one united nation but India has to work on their attitude on racial issues. Why only blamed China?China is not even sri lanka largest lenders. China holds a portion of less then 10% of Sri Lanka's total foreign debt, with more held by Japan, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. India holds nearly 3%. Sri lankan have only themselves to blame for voting Rajapaksa into office.

Actual percentage of Chinese debt can be nearly about 19%. The figures are not out yet. Also if you see debt from other countries to Sri Lanka was on a logical basis, unlike China which opened its paycheck knowing that srilanka won't be able to payback and it will be an opportunity to acquire their land. But definitely the Rajpakshae family is to be blamed first for crisis.
