But her hindi is marvelous and I am proud of her ...sometimes I really think that why English has been given so much priority in india ..this language has become a judgment like if you don't know English you are uneducated , you are a outdated. why ??

Not knowing English is not a crime. But leaving someone alone to fend for themselves in a place where they don't understand what is being spoken nor those around her understand what she says is highly avoidable IMO. When her knowledge of the local language is so poor, why did she venture out alone? She could have asked her niece to accompany her. I thought the situations in the film were too exaggerated. People working at cash counters and those standing in a queue are also hard pressed for time. It is hardly a place for sign language from severely underconfident tourists or immigrants. Sridevi did seem like a retard in some scenes rather than someone who didn't know the language.

This is one of my favorite movie and I used to watch it again and again due to the awesome acting of legendary actor 'SriDevi'. Also, this movie has lots of touching moments and Sridevi made it alive. Truly in current days bollywood not only required the face but natural acting like SriDevi and Madhuri Dixit.

I have watched English Vinglish for more than 47 times and still it's my favourite movie. Now I have lost the count. I remember it was my first movie released on 5th of October 2012. Her acting was amazing and emotions and expressions were seemed genuine. Unfortunately She passed away on 24th of February 2018. Missing Sridevi ji alot for her role of Shashi in English Vinglish
