In all the Vedic scripture, the position accorded to the Srimad Bhagavatam Mahapuran or the Bhagwat Katha is exceptional. The Vedas are, of course, the highest authority. However, Srimad Bhagavatam Mahapuran is like the essence of the Vedic teachings, written by Ved Vyas himself. Knowledge of Vedas and Upanishads is presented in such a blissful manner, with all the Divine pastimes of God and His devotees, that listening to the Bhagwat Katha becomes an experience in itself. Not only does it illuminates our intellect with Divine wisdom, it also moves our heart and fills them with the nectar of Divine love. That is why it is said that this Srimad Bhagavatam or Bhagwat Katha has something that even the Vedas do not have.
Shaunakadik asks Sutaji Maharaj, How did he get the Bhagavatam? Sutaji says, he got it from his Guru Shukadev, who got it from his Guru and father Ved Vyas. How did Ved Vyas got to write Bhagavatam? Ved Vyas compiled the Vedas. He also wrote the Mahabharat, 17 Puranas and the Vedant. Having written so much, Ved Vyas was still feeling dissatisfied. In this mode of discontent he sat on the banks of river Sarasvati and started thinking what is the matter. He says, "I am lifting my hands up and screaming, I have given so many instructions to human being in these scriptures, why is it that people's hearts are not getting influenced by it, is it because that I have not described pure Divine love?" He was contemplating over this when Narada Muni came. Ved Vyas shared his problem. Naradji says, "O Ved Vyas, you have written so much. But, you have not described the pure Bhaagavat Dharma. Now, write such a scripture which is beyond Dharma, Artha, Kaam, Moksha."
After this Naradji relates his own tale and says that in his previous life he was son of a daasi (maid servant). She was a widow. It was her duty to clean the ashram and do other chores. During Chaturmaas (4 months of monsoon), some sages came to stay in the ashram. It is the tradition that during these four months of monsoon, sages halt at one place. In the meantime, they used to recite God's pastime, give discourses on spiritual topics, etc. Naradji as a child used to sit and hear them and get enchanted by it. Sages were also very happy with Naradji's attentiveness. So, they used to grace him with prasad and seva. He used to eat the remnant of the sage's food which was cleaning his heart. After the 4 months, the sages went away from the ashram while Naradji became more desirous of their association and God's pastimes. Meanwhile, a snake came and bit his mother and she died. After that Naradji took off from the ashram. He had only one desire and that was to meet God. In his quest he went to few holy places and had darshan of Lord Krishna. I was in a state of joy but all of a sudden the lord disappeared. Now, he started going to all holy places in search of Lord Krishna and perform all kinds of austerities. Decades went by but he did not achieve any success. Finally he reached a point when he was all despondent. At that moment there was an akashvani (voice from the sky). God said to him, "Narad! that darshan which you got was given out of special grace, you did not deserve it. It was just to ignite your desire to see the Lord. As yet you are not qualified for the darshan. Spend your life in austerity and then in next life, you will be ever united with me."

Some 55 years back my late Guruji ,who had devine power and could tell past present and future just by looking at person's forehead. He could just tell anything with devine power bestowed on him.He was a Odiya Gentleman and worked as a acountent in tata iron and steel and never wore saffron cloth and just lived like any other cooman man ,in fact people used to come and ask him in his house that babaji lives here can i meet him . My Guruji told me that in Bharat varsh there are infinite people with devine power but few reveal themselves to the world . He said our vaid sastra is so well defined since satya yuga that any human with very strong will power can go through these vaid sastra and achive devine power ,the vaid satra just spoon feed every thing to achive shiddhi. But it is posible only if one born as Hindu ,in orher religion in the world it is not that easy to achive devine power . All swami's with devine power when they tell satya yuga,treta yuga and dropad yuga story it sounds good as when they say these stories they feel that period with the devine power inside them and tell the story in most beautiful way as they can feel that period inside them . Now some will say if Bharat is people with infinite devine power the why is not Bharat number one country in whole world . The answer is karma . My Guru used to say that Gods most special and most precious gift on planet earth is to be born as human being on planer earth . Every human should feel blessed as he of she have been as human being and not as animal,bird,plant,worm,becteria ,fish,flora and fauna. My Guruji said birth, marriage,death and destiny is scripted in human forehead at the time of birth and people with devine power in one glance can make out every thing .But then it cannot be changed by anyone with devine power ,nor God can change it once scripted as per karma .But if a person do good to others ,never hurt others sentiment ,alway be honest and does proper karma then his or her bhagya if not good gets better with other people blessing .My Guru said never ever hurt another human being knowingly or unknowingly. Alway choose honest path and you will see better days ahead. My Guruji said charity begins at home ,always make sure your family needs are fulfilled after that you do charity .Never spare your enemy ,if your mother land is attacked just kill your enemy ,its your moral duty towards your mother land . My Guruji said planet earth will exist for millions of years to come and will never get destroyed only thing humanbeing will gradually become small and to pluck a tomatto one will use ladder. My Guruji said lord Ravanas palace Lanka is burried deep below the see and modern science will discover it ,whole world will be surprised to see it ,it will change world history .My Guruji said there are alliens in other planet and they will visit earth and it will be common thing ,when it happen ,they will come and go very frequently.it will be a usual affair .my guruji said that science will expand beyound human imagination . My Guruji said pakistan will vanish from world political map for ever . My guruji said Hindu people should live far far away from muslim and sikh people in india if they want to live a peaceful life as other two religion are religion of fanatics .My Guruji said that in Bharat there are many places still where millions of people brutally torched and killed hundreds of years back by invaders have not got mukti as there kriakaram did not take place as per hindu system as all got killed and no one left to do kriakaram and these people still live like spirit for hundred of years to come and these places are haunted . I told him cant you do it ,he said its a very very tiresome job i mean puja. My Guru said that in Himalaya there are sages since the time of treta yuga ,with passage of time they have become invisible , but the see every thing around them and are alway in deep dhayan in the Himalayan Region .My Guruji said that two most jagrat temple for hindus in the planet earth is Maa Kamakhya temple where maa ganga flows from the rock inside the temple and second most jagrat temple is Lord Jagannath temple in Puri . Where Lord Krishna is virajman .Any Hindu who claims to complet his or her tirth yatra in this life but has not visited the above two temple then his or her tirth yatra is not complet at all. 🙏Jay Gurudev🙏🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️🕉️

Vedvyas Ji's interest to influence souls of material world is outstanding and very generous. He himself realized god and revealed it to the world, that is the true nature of a god realized saint and we are fortunate to acquire this knowledge of bhakti from him. Also Narad ji's childhood story of previous birth is so inspiring, the desire to meet god and experience that unlimited bliss of Radha Krishna in heart is phenomenal. This gives many hopes and increase faith in god. Wonderful explanation by Swamiji and full of facts and divine wisdom.

Narad Ji's story is very encouraging to sadhak like me. I too feel disappointed in sadhana from time to time, but I must persevere, just like Narad Ji. Thank you, Ved Vyas Ji, for compiling the Bhagavatam, and thank you Swamiji, for narrating it to us !

God wants his devotees to be sincere and dedicated in their sadhana. If the devotees are honest and truthful in their pursuit, God will grace them with his presence and darshan. The path may appear to be long and demanding, but there is light at the end of the tunnel and absolute bliss and union with God is in store!
