Chalo mere saath thandi mein Srinagar ghoomo...I visited Srinagar during extremely cold days but enjoyed throughly. If you are travelling to Kashmir during winters, do watch this video for sure. I stayed in Radisson and ITC Fortune Hotels.

* Chai Jaai Tea Room - It's a beautiful cafe made in British style serving authentic Kashmiri food and kahvah

* Ahdoos restaurant for non-veg Kashmiri food
* Lal Chowk area for shopping
* Maharaja Bazar for dry fruits
* Mughal gardens- they are white and frozen in winters

My husband and I spent 5 nights in a houseboat way back in 1995.I will never forget my experiences there from the time we landed at Srinagar airport till the day we took off to New Delhi.I was awed by the first sight of Srinagar when I alighted from the plane.What a beautiful country with its most beautiful places and people.The green tea , juicy apples ,trout fish , rotis and the breakfast served ny the Kashmiris was simply splendid.Kashmir surrounded by valleys has beautiful gardens.Lastly , the shikaras where you can buy anything from the comfort of you houseboat.Also saw the saffron plants for the first time.There are a lot of things I can write about India.

My uncle is posted there in CRPF. I have not been there, only reason is safety. But once I will come there, wear the traditional attire, eat the food, throw some snow here and there and I like people there as one of my friends was from here and heard a lot about how good hearted people are over there.
