I traveled on same route in 1985 in non ac, a tata or Leyland bus . It took same time around 22-24 hours. During Punjab journey the bus along with other vehicles,,was escorted by police .

34:30 same thing happened with me at New Delhi station a couple of week back. Got down from Kashi vishwanath exp & took an auto to ISBT. Already he was pissed with me as I was not allowing him to let me share the auto. He said, "bus pakadna hai?". Then "kahan ki". I said Jaipur. He was like beta aap galat ja rahe ho. Mori gate chhod deta hu, wahan se ek se badhkar ek buses milegi. ISBT se koi bus nahi jaati jaipur. Phir to usko pura boarding point se lekar dropping point samjha diya (isbt, dhaula kuan, iffco chowk...).. 😂😂 & When I reached ISBT, just then RSRTC volvo was ready to leave. I said, "Chacha, udhar dekho, ISBT se jaipur.. Then he said, jaati hogi lekin main aapko isse achi bus dilwata.. 😂 They get comission from pvt buses for bringing passengers (some are fraud too). Thats why they insist for pvt buses.

Fun fact : The stretch of road that u see at 4:50 it was actually an asphalt road but later for a stretch of around 3-4 kms was dug up and laid with concrete instead. The idea is that it would be used as makeshift runway for fighter jets in case of emergenices or be used by jets for emergency landing.

Sir,I think sleepers are not available in these busses. Whereas sleepers are very essential . People prefers sleepers as old aged, sick and other types of people who can not sit on seats for hours wants sleepers busses.So Govt is requested to.provide sleeper busses also from srinagar to Delhi and the Bus stop at Delhi is very far from other stations. Govt is also requested to arrange Delhi bus stop for the busses of J,,,&K SRTC near LAL FORT or Jamia Masjid Delhi as public demand. Thanks.

Sumit bhai volvo b8 r is more comfortable than Mercedes high deck bus . Ac , suspension , pickup etc . 👍🙏. It's my personal experience of travelling. Engine sound of Mercedes Benz bus was too loud as compare to volvo .

Yes, always open. But in winters due to landslides in Jammu, road gets closed for one to two days. U can come to Kashmir anytime.
