Questions, and Answers by Sri Ma Anandamayi at Nadiad in 1978 - No 2 - Revised file

Against a backdrop of photos, Sri Ma is answering questions at Matri Satsang time at the Samyam Saptah at Nadiad in 1978. The English translation is given by subtitles; translation is by someone who was closely associated with Sri Ma, and very familiar with her mode of expression. It is hard to express the true import of the words she uttered, and great care has been taken here to get the meaning across.

+Karthik-Carsten von Würden The translation was done by someone who is Bengali by birth, fully fluent in English and who spent 3 years in almost continuous contact with Ma. Her words are sometimes not easy to follow even in the original, let alone a best translation into English, and then into your own language. My suggestion would be to ponder over the words as best you can and see if they reveal their meaning to you.

I am told it is Swami Swatantrananda,one the very few erudite scholars of vedantic monism of the last century. He was a roaming mendicant. He never officially joined or established any ashram and refused to be consecrated as a Mahamandaleshwar. He had a very sweet relationship with Ma and never missed the opportunity to question Ma during satsang (of course with the approach of an innocent child) to reveal her true identity.
