The SRM hostel is very expensive compared to KIIT. KIIT 2 bedded AC is around 70k(attached bathroom) whereas the SRM 2 bedded AC is 1,50,000(attached bathroom) but the tuition fees of both the universities are very close. So, the total expense is much more in SRM than KIIT if you decide to take ac in both the universities and well trust me if you arent adjusted to the heat of both the cities, it is like living in hell without AC in these cities .

About SRM other Campuses (RMP And City Campus). If you Can sacrifice the luxury of mighty KTR campus and Want to leave Near the Chennai city with an affordable tuition fee go for these Campuses. All the Bright students emerge from Either VDP or RMP campus KTR is For The Actual Campus Life. And if placements are your concern, all students ultimately have to appear at KTR Campus only for it so there is no as such discrimination issue.

Now In KIIT School of computer Engineering you can see more than 80% students who got chance NITs but max students got lower Departments like civil, chemical etc due to they leave NITs. Again if you compare Faculty & Teaching KIIT better maximum NITs. On campus Placement NITs slight better, but off-campus Placement kiit >> max nits. becz NITs are very old Colleges It's on campus placement stand strongly. But it ensure than after 10-15 yeara KIIT will stand with BITs pilani & IITs. Becz of it superfast growth & very good placement. Specially kiit students doing much better in off-campus placement. Around 27 students got placed at Google a single year in off-campus placement, but the same year no one get placed at Google in on-campus placement. As a very new college KIIT obviously a big brand Today. it will overcome all nits definitely like bits pilani (after 10-15 years).
