The Mach 1 mustang was originally designed to be the new 2003 cobra.....the engine uses navigator cams for extra torque and uses the the same heads as the cobra terminator........it was rated at 305hp by Ford but it was faster than the 99-2001 cobras that were rated at 320Hp.......my personal opinion......The Mach makes more than 320hp but Ford underrated it at 305 because they did not want it to bite them in the ass like the major recall they had with the 99 Cobra being under powerd from there factory numbers

Manual Mach 1s likely made 335hp/350tq compared to the 320hp/317tq rating the cobras had. Just my guess from what I have seen on the dyno and assuming 15/16% loss.

Dino Crazyy I can assure you a stock Mach 1 doesn’t make close to 350whp. 1st and 2nd gen coyotes make about 350whp. My 2v mustang can run with a Mach 1 and it made 260 crank horsepower out of the factory

@@creepystank420 im talking about at the crank not to the wheels bro... my car bone stock dynoed 291/313 to the wheels. so simple math suggests the car makes over 330/350 at the crank. and thats 350 ft lbs not hp.... after an x pipe and tune the car made 309/328 to the wheels.

@@creepystank420 Even if you argue dyno jet and mustang dyno that would mean my car would have made 272/288 which is still roughly 320/340 at the crank. the whole point is the mach 1 was in fact underrated. your 2v is overrated

The 4.6l 4v mach 1 was definitely underrated it made more than it was rated from the factory which was 305 hp when they dynoed stock at 300 whp which is around 350 crank hp

definitely need a driver with more seat time in the mach1, with 3.90s and full exhaust i'm at 60mph top of 2nd/ bottom of 3rd, when the ass-end starts to walk , feather the throttle and shift to 3rd. the mach1's start pulling real hard in 3rd

You’re right on the dot with that! I also own a 03 Oxford white Mach 1 and it pulls hard as fuck in 3rd gear,my Mach 1 is also bone stock down to the air filter

You guys are silly as hell. Over 7 1/2 seconds for a mustang with a 5.2 0 to 60 and the Z below 5 seconds. Im a firm believer in racing at the track. 2 cars and 2 driver, but no race of the cars side by side. Yeah...you guys should be baking cookies or something. Let your father man his own machine.

It shouldn’t even be close guys. Really need some practice launching and shifting. That car with the setup should be in the mid 5’s. Why not do 10 runs on each, get practice in.

I've actually raced one of these in my 2004 Orange 5 speed Mach 1 and I blew his doors off. It was a "Nismo" edition as well. Wasn't even close btw.

Jesus I hate being that guy but y'all need to learn how to drive😭 think of the shifting as one action as opposed to three seperate moves. Push (pull) the stick as youre going for the clutch and keep your foot planted. Awesome vid man🔥

Terminator block is iron and has forged internals. The Mach 1 and the previous N/A Cobra have an aluminum block and not forged internals.

All cobras and 5 speed machs had forged cranks but prior to 03 the 4v didn't have forged rods and pistons.

Something is off here i had a 1998 Mercedes E430 and it was doing 0-60 in 6.8 and that was using a draggy so it was accurate.

Fastest stock 0-60 I've ever heard of in a mach was 4.9, and 12.9 in the quarter. The quarter mile pass is here on YT, twas a young fellow. I just gave my 03' to my niece.

The stock 03-04 Mach 1’s would beat the 03-04 Cobras in the 1/4 mile I raced half a dozen stock Cobras at the Dragway and never lost, the Cobras were always closing on me into the traps but never caught me. Stick shift Mach 1’s had the forged 8 bolt cranks.

You were racing very bad drivers my friend lol. The best time I ever seen for a Mach stock was 13.1 at 105 that is stock down to the tires. Same driver same drag strip (evan Smith at Englishtown) the cobra went like 12.40 at 113 or something like that. There is a huge gap. If you were holding them off all the way through the quarter they was getting extremely bad starts and prob shifting like shit to boot. I love machs but they won't touch a terminator stock for stock equal drivers. A fbo geared Mach can Def take out a stock terminator which is fairly impressive.

Capabilities, stock trim my Mach 1 was right around your 13.teens after 4:30 gears, headers and a good tune I was in the 12:80’s. I raced with a couple guys who were running in the factory stock class and were constantly running low 12 second passes the one guy finished 2 or third that year and actually ran an 11:90 something for his best ET.

My maxima is faster than my mach 1 or my mach's speedo can't keep pace with the acceleration one. I've run them both to a fixed point on a road, the maxima is at 80 to the mach's 75. Kind of shitty considering two less cylinders and 1.1 liters smaller but the mach wins the cool factor award at least.

I've ridden in a couple other Mustangs but they weren't as rowdy as that one. I guess you will have to build another one and let us ride in it 😉. I can't wait to hook up that maf-t and isc, I'm ready to turn my car up!
