*Learning with Visuals: Exploring Human Anatomy Through Models* * *0:00:49** The Human Spine:* The spine is color-coded into cervical (C), thoracic (TH), lumbar (L), sacrum (S), and coccyx (C) sections, each with a natural curvature. * Vertebrae are numbered from top to bottom (e.g., C1, C2, TH1, TH2, L1, L2). * Discs between vertebrae provide cushioning and prevent friction. * Nerve fibers run through the spinal column, carrying information to and from the brain. * *0:05:35** The Human Eye:* A detailed model reveals the eye's structures. * *Cornea:* The clear, front surface of the eye. * *Pupil:* The hole in the center of the iris that allows light to enter. * *Iris:* The colored part of the eye that controls pupil size. * *Sclera:* The white part of the eye. * *Limbus:* The junction between the cornea and sclera. * *Anterior Angle:* The space where aqueous humor drains. * *0:08:41** Eye Muscles:* Muscles attached to the sclera enable eye movements. * *0:09:10** Three Tunics:* The eye has three layers: outer sclera, middle choroid (vascular), and inner retina (nervous). * *0:09:59** Optic Nerve:* A bundle of nerve fibers transmitting visual information to the brain. * *0:10:25** Blood Supply:* Veins (blue) and arteries (red) supply and drain blood. * *0:11:12** Vortex Veins:* Veins that pierce the eye's periphery, visible during ophthalmoscopy. * *0:11:37** Inside the Eye:* A smaller model shows internal structures. * *0:12:08** Cornea:* May be rugby ball-shaped in individuals with astigmatism. * *0:12:36** Crystalline Lens:* Focuses light, prone to age-related changes like cataracts. * *0:13:26** Ciliary Body:* Produces aqueous humor. * *0:13:48** Lens Zonules:* Hold the lens in place. * *0:13:59** Retina, Optic Nerve, Macula:* Key structures for vision. * *0:14:26** Cataracts:* Age-related lens changes can cause yellowing and opacity. * *0:15:04** Nuclear Cataract:* Murky, yellowish discoloration. * *0:15:53** Cortical Cataract:* Starts at the periphery, resembling spokes. * *0:16:34** Posterior Subcapsular Cataract:* Begins at the back of the lens. * *0:16:56** Cataract Surgery:* Removal of the cataract and replacement with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). * *0:17:31** Teeth:* An overview of teeth structure and function. * Upper and lower teeth are labeled 1 to 8. * *0:18:30** Tooth Types:* Incisors (slicing), canines (piercing), premolars and molars (mashing) aid in digestion. * *0:19:28** Salivary Glands:* Produce amylase, the first digestive enzyme. * *0:19:52** Foot and Lower Leg:* A model highlights key features. * *0:20:22** Lower Leg:* Bone, ankle, Achilles tendon. * *0:20:54** Unique Footprint:* Similar to a fingerprint. * *0:21:11** Foot Parts:* Heel, ball, arch, ankle, toes (big toe, long toe, pinky). * *0:22:07** Unique Prints:* On the base of the toes.
