Isolation is so bad,i have suffered this, you kind of have a toxic relationship with your own house where you don't really like to stay there but also you don't wanna leave it! but it feels so refreshing once you step outside and interact with others.

Good that you posted your experience with one of those family members. Actually people are not aware of the depth of spiritual life and it's various states thus they co-relate them with their individual, personal or social(their kind of) perspective and way of living. Samaadhi is the final state in spirituality and in that blissful state of ultimate stillness ,the sense-organs and body don't respond to any changes happening outside, outside means not even state, city, street, home but also the self-body which the soul witnesses. In that supreme state ,their remains only one thought-less pure witness, that's absolute self-awareness,everything else passes without affecting them. Read advaita-Vedanta like ashtavakra Gita first and you will recognize that they were highly spiritual people, not insane or sick or cult-practitioners or physically-attached.Their were many saints who preached their disciples in silence without a word spoken .Far from our general awareness, Their are many unknown ashrams and caves where yogis and sadhaks and saints take the body, live and drop the body and nobody comes to know about that, so there's nothing strange if anybody lived not as we lived, there is nothing strange if anyone passed away as we don't consider it normal. Yes but that's strange when someone cheats or kills somebody for money or lust or greed or caste, that's strange when someone burries or burns their family members dead body according to religious rituals but never cared so much about them till they were living, that's strange when someone eats a dead but cooked animal calling it a fresh meal when vegetables are available everyday everywhere around them

I believe that a lot of the bizarre things about this case is due to the lack of socialization that they had when they were kids. My father was one of the police investigating this case... I came to know about this story though my father, the details was horrible. Even in this time, when I thought about it I get goosebumps... Also their relationship with their parents were problematic, their mother was very controlling since their childhood. And after their mother died, their father was not very close with them. And, debjani locked herself in her room with her dogs to do religious fasting, but after some days her dogs died. Then after few months she also died out of fasting. And the paper that police founded in their house, those were used for communication with debjani. Her father used to slipped those papers under the door just to talk to her.

Some more points to know how blindly religious and spiritual they were:- 1. Aurobindo believed that a person never dies, only the body dies, and the soul is immortal. 2. Aurobindo and his kids shared the same belief, and they DID NOT ATTEND THEIR OWN MOTHER'S FUNERAL. This wasn't new for them, but it was unusual because Aarti was the root of that family, and they loved her too much. Aarti Dey was very strict, and she didn't allow her kids to live a normal life like every child deserves. Because of isolation from the outside world, the kids got close to each other and Partho specifically was dependent on his sister and mother. He also acquired feminine personality which troubled his mother (Aarti) and (allegedly) Aarti used to send maid to Partho's room to make him feel sexually aroused. Also, Partho after everything, when he was finally leading a normal life, he used to get threats because of the amount of property he owned. Allegedly, it is believed that Partho was suffering through depression and anxiety because of how people called him "monster" and a threat to the society. It's very sad and disheartening that their home is now called a "horror house". Whenever I visit that area i get this weird feeling idk. A human brain is so mysterious, think of all things it can make you do.

How do you confirm the fact that dhananjay was not a killer and the mother of the victim did that? The 2017 'Dhananjay' movie was a hypothetical case with a different perspective...It was made upon a book of two professors of ISI who doubted that if dhananjay actually did that. But there is no solid proof that the victim's mother was guilty. Also it is seemingly that there was some political propaganda to make that cinema. Don't give a statement based upon a cinema only which shows a hypothetical case too.

I am so glad you talked about this case. I was quite young when this happened and the news channels were flooding with random information that showed him to be incest and stuff like that. Honestly, I felt bad for him. In school, people used his name as a joke or as a slang when in reality he genuinely loved his family a lot. Being from Kolkata, during this investigation, everyone kept asking me how far this place was from my house. I am glad that you showed him as what he truly was instead of what the media portrayed him to be. I felt bad for him when he passed away eventually but for some reason that part never got enough media coverage at least in Kolkata. Thanks for this. I always wanted a proper detailed case study on this case.

I’m 24M, from a Bengali upper middle class family of Kolkata. People especially Bengali parents are heavily judgemental and critical about almost every other person, hence even I have never been able to get frank with our neighbours as everybody weirdly hates socialising. Mental health crisis is rampant especially in the posh housing societies of Kolkata, and with the excessive immigration of the Bengali youth, this trend will only increase. Bengali culture has become very snobbish and closed-minded lately (it’s not casteist or misogynistic, rather extremely classist).

WOAH, the most heartbreaking case i might've ever heard. Umm, the upbringing of a child by their parents does matter, so does the environment of home in shaping the personality of a child, a child who grows in a toxic household often tries to avoid social interactions and isolates themselves and ends up becoming mentally ill or depressed. ALSO, parents who expect their children to act or behave in a certain manner disregarding their feelings and do not let them live their life can also have profound impact on their children. So it's true that how parents raise their children truly matters.

I was very young when I heard this case. All the news were covering this case. This shit rlly rlly scared me. I used to watch the news all day. In school also everyone discussed about this. I could never believe this at that very young age. It really gave sleepless nights to me as I couldn't accept it. 😂 Sometimes I pass by the house, (the porsh place is in park Street) I always take a moment n look at the house, it really reminds me of how sacred I was when I was young. Thank u for covering it ❤.

After all this when he was learning to how to be good this society killed him in my language there’s a quote where there is good there’s bad perhaps some people did treat him good but at the same time some people treated him really badly like calling him Killer making some gestures in front of him that might made him think they don’t like him changing their ways while he used to walk he wasn’t a monster just a human who needed help who was afraid to ask help the whole life but when he did this is what this society did to him sad

I am from Howrah, a city beside Kolkata. I was in 10th at that time. I was in a hostel where we used to get newspapers everyday. This remained a front page news of every newspaper for some weeks. Me and my friends used to wait eagerly everyday to get new update regarding the case. We were so much excited as kids. We perceived it as a thriller story. But now almost 10 years past, I feel ashamed of myself. This was no joke man. Mental health issues are a big concern in our society. May his soul Rest In Peace 🕊️

How much he have gone through 🙂frfr we as a society who is failed to understand what mental illness is sometimes we should understand ppl around us if they aren't socializing it doesn't mean they are bed person or monster i hope after death he is having peace
