SRS XB20 Keeps shutting off on high volume

will void warranty I'm not responsible for this method , u wont be a le to put it in water no more but it keeps it from shutting off on high volume

instead of drilling and damaging the body of the speaker , disassemble the speaker remove the batter and put it back again and when putting the eight screws of the front panel screw 1-2 of them loosely it will help the pressure come out

I’m very surprised this work and was the only video I could find about this but it worked for me I’ve had the speaker sitting for about a year and a half and it irritated me that I would shut off but wow this fr works thanx very much💯💯

i feel sorry for your sony srs-xb20. you dont need to do what the video is showing because the powering off of the device in high volume is a feature of this device that needs to turn off.

dis is totally crab , punching holes in bass radiator will leave ur speaker will no basss ,( dis switching offf of speaker is totally battery issue) I HAVE CHANGED MY XB 20 BATTERY WITH LAPTOP LITHIUM CELLS AND NOW ITS BACK IN FRESH CONDITION ,auto switching off problem of speaker is resolved ,trust meee DON'T PUNCTURE UR BASS RADIATOR ., AND IM ELECTRICAL ELECTRONICS ENGINEER U CAN TRUST ME .

as old battery couldn't supply high amperes to motherboard due to which bms of d battery switches off the supply when ever high amperes are been sucked from battery n battery is incapable to suppplyyyy , ( i have used LAPTOP battery 2 cells and used same old bms of speakers battery n now my speaker is in awesome condition

Cuando se apaga con alto volumen es por que la vibración afloja el conector de la batería solo hay que desconectar el plof y conectarlo bien de nuevo ya lo he probado en mi sony srs-xb20

When it turns off with high volume it is because the vibration loosens the battery connector, you just have to disconnect the connector and connect it again well, I have already tried it on my sony srs-xb20

I tried to fix my speaker by detaching and attaching the battery connector first - that fixed the problem with sudden shutdown. Now it is working like a charm again. If the problem appears again I will try with the wholes like in this video. Cheers

Please don't do this. If you "relieve" pressure inside the speaker, it no longer has a decent bass. You're basically destroying a perfectly good speaker.

take apart the speaker, then in then theres a spot where theres two holes already drill two holes, it relieves the pressure thats causing your battery to disconnect

you have no idea how passive speaker works. drilling the whole is not the solution. you just destroyed the bass on your speaker. shutting down means there is some technical problem most likely related with battery being weak.

Oi tudo bem? Tenho um sony SRS XB01, e quando coloco no volume máximo, ela trava fazendo um barulho alto insuportável, o que pode ser? Esse problema começou com apenas 6 meses de uso, colocava no volume máximo e dava isto, daí sempre ouvia em 90%... mas com o tempo com 90% começou a travar também e tinha que abaixar :/ Hoje tenho que ouvir somente no volume 60% porque se aumentar mais ela dá esse problema :( Por favor me ajude rsrsrs é muito baixinho 60% não sei o que fazer

this is a straight up bulshit it shuts off because of the sound chip gets hot install a heat sink and lcd led bards thermal tape of heatsink plaster to keep the heatsink in place use the larger heatsink you can problem fixed you can also reflow the chips it sometimes work
