I saw this movie at Bangaluru in the year '75 in the Shanthi theatre near the south end circle. The theatre is no more with the changes in the city. The old Bangaluru can not be imagined with the influx of outsiders . Bangaluru was a heaven and now it is no more a paradise. Very sad . Can;t get back the old glorious city Bangaluru the beautiful shanthi theatre

This movie is permanently engrained in my memory. My grandma liked this movie so much that she narrated it to me frame by frame, for 2 hours. I was 12 years old then. She wanted to watch the movie again and took me along (Shantala theater, Mysore).

Puttanna is greatest director. In climax scene one can observe, when aarati going to loknath's house, background music is "shatamanada madari hennu" song which symbolises ego in her mind.
