At first he did. But the Exia gets totaled at the very beginning of the second season and he switches over to the 00 which soon gets upgraded into the 00 Raiser (the one you see here); the 00 Raiser is totaled at the end of the anime and he briefly (for one duel) switches back to the Exia. In the movie, he uses the repaired 00 Raiser at first but switches over to the insanely overpowered 00 Quanta for the final battle.

The difference being it's filled with a crapload of famous mecha anime and sometimes games. Mazinger all the way to Code Geass, yup, there are a ton here. And they're all in one universe. Interacting with each other, fighting together like badasses and completely stomping all evil in all dimensions flat.

They already blew the budget with the GN Sword II. Banpresto uses weapons/units that have too little screen time or are too broken as final attacks like Raiser Sword. Maybe in Z3, we'll be able to use 00 Raiser GN Condenser Type, which comes with a GN Sword III.

Correction, the Raiser Sword in CB the Movie is a reference to the original Trans-Am Raiser. Setsuna actually used it with the GN-Sword III in the anime.

What i dont like about z2 is that they didnt redesign all of z1 units in the game other than Nu gundam. You can see the difference, z1 units have big heads and small body compared to the new units of z2 which is less deformed.
