I worked on the Norway in Bremerhaven, we did sound and lighting in the public rooms. All of the neon lighting in the floor in Dazzles disco was made across the river (I live in Cincinnati) in Covington KY and shipped over with the rest of our stuff. I was very lucky to be part of the three man crew from our company (to say the least!).

I live in Louisville and was not aware of this. I had the distinct pleasure of sailing on the S.S. Norway twice. She was a beautiful vessel and is sorely missed. I would sail on her again if I could. It was a shame they destroyed her. She should have been preserved as a floating hotel or a maritime museum of some sort. Do you happen to know the name of the shop in Covington that manufactured the neon for the Dazzles disco onboard?

My first and last trip in a cruise was back in the summer of 1989 aboard this beauty.......one week full of good memories and fun.
