SS Palo Alto aka The Cement Ship at the Seacliff State Beach in Aptos, CA

When I first got my quadcopter, I took footage of the ship during a trip to the Seacliff State Beach. I was still a beginner pilot, as evident by shaky footage, but I got some great shots of the ship regardless.
Then, more recently I heard from a coworker that the huge storm that came through during the first of February had moved the ship. He also said it washed all sorts of debris into the parking lots and onto the shore. The next day I brought my quadcopter up to get some footage, much better flying I might add.
When I got home, I compared the position of the ship to my older footage and I was amazed at how much it had moved. This is a compilation of that footage.

When I was a kid, we went fishing off the aft part of the ship. The bow was broken away and there was no way to get out there, but the stern was still connected to the pier.

2015-16 was one intense El Niño winter when the Aptos part of Monterey Bay saw a few beach-less, wave-ravaged nights.

When I moved to Rio in 1987 you could walk on the ship almost to its bow. Now everything is gone.

Yeah the parking lots and beaches were full of driftwood and sand when I was filming. It was 2 days after the storm so they had already cleaned up a ton of it.

Don't know where you're from but the ship is broken now. that thewas a party ship with dance hall, bars, restaurant. billions of seabirds inhabited seacliff. the ship was open all the way down. beautiful people. seventies were best. brandy, beach baby, alone again naturally. next time use the expanded version of theme from boat weirdos for background.
