Warto dodać, iż więźniowie komanda specjalnego pracujący w Lager III (strefie eksterminacji) byli tak izolowani od reszty, iż nie wiedzieli w ogóle o planowanym powstaniu i ucieczce z obozu i oczywiście nie byli w stanie wziąć udziału w tej ucieczce z 14 października 1943 roku. Żaden z tych ludzi nie przeżył obozu w Sobiborze...

It's 165 km (102 miles) to the Sobibór camp, I haven't been there yet. But it's only 45 km (28 miles) to the Treblinka camp, and I've been there many times.

Its good to see interest from others, this tragedy is hard to comprehend at times. Treblinka used to have the old station and original RR tracks still in place until around the mid 1990's. Now its all been cleared along with the pecan trees that lined the asphalt rd. Have been trying to obtain some of the actual trial testimonies of the SS guards from treblinka trial 1965 but even the US Holocaust Museum in WASH DC dosen't have them. Imagine the terrible scenes that took place at the village train station before each section of 20 cars was shunted into the camp about 3 miles down the rd.@@marianek25
