They could've least hired Asian or half-asian actors for the role of jayden and Lauren. Like none of the actors are Japanese (mia's character is complete Japanese, and others are mixed-race, since her surname is 'Watanabe' but her actress is Chinese. Well, at least an east-asian). They look like ninjas more. And the thing that the monsters are attacking outside Japan just for 'samurai-s' to protect the people and yeah the fact that an ancient Japanese house popped out of nowhere in a separate country for the samurai leader to live and make it their base is SOOOOOO believable (WHY?!). They turned mojikara into 'Samurai symbols' for them to be like "I can't tolerate water cuz I am a fire samurai (just an imagination)"

Considering Samurai brought back "Go Go Power Rangers" as the main theme and featured Bulk (and Skull's nephew but ehhhh), I think the showrunners were more interested in nostalgia-baiting than actually taking advantage of the Samurai theming. Plus, I've heard a lot of preproduction staff thought incredibly low of its audience when writing these shows. At the very least I think that was the case for Super Megaforce.

I’m currently watching Shinkenger now and although PR Samurai and Shinkenger have a few similarities (Shiba Clan, Dyuu, Sanzu River threat) Shinkenger is better because it’s original. I’m not just going to like a show because it’s the original. It’s ok to say you like the scenes on PR over Sentai. There are scenes where I prefer from the Power Rangers over the original sentai. I like the morphing and the music when it comes to PR but I also love the story for Sentai. The characters between the Sentai and PR is a draw for me. I just find them both awesome.

I watched PR Samurai before any sentai. Like all kids, it held a special place in my heart. When I was older I got introduced to the original Japanese series, and at first I was skeptical... But boy are they a thousand times better. Power rangers are so bland and meaningless in comparison. There's a lot of plot, character development and detail that goes into super sentai. Power rangers just reduces the show into 'badass fight scene' or 'badass morphing scene' which aint even that badass.

Usually I’m the one to say “don’t be too harsh on the PR counterpart” but this one was just bad. PR Samurai/Saban had one job, and it was to create a Japanese samurai storyline. Disappointed that they didn’t cast ANY Japanese/Japanese American actors for the roles. Jayden is supposed to be Japanese even his last name is “Shiba” and he’s just a white actor playing a japanese character. They should’ve at least casted a Japanese red ranger. While I do understand Samurai was quite popular among kids back in the day and it introduced a new generation to Power Rangers. If you’re one of those kids that is grown up now, do yourself a favor, watch Shinkenger. It’s 10x better!

The Power Rangers one will always have a special place in my heart with the music, special effects and the morphing scenes. But the original sentai japanese will always have a better plot/story and the better treatment character development over their characters. There are times where PR have better scenes/humor/and life lessons I’ll never forget. PR are just more lighthearted and wholesome for me. My favorite one is with Sky on SPD, Kruger and Xander from Mystic Force. I like those characters more than Sentai but to each their own.

@@MiXVoy this really wouldn't have been much a problem if saban didn't decide to be cheap as all hell and basically do a 4kids dub of the season, otherwise they might've come up with a different story where all the Japanese stuff would've just been aesthetics (like with ninja storm or alien rangers) although considering how beloved and seemingly good shinkenger is in sentai it probably would've still been inferior but not as embarrassing

@@demothiguillermo2059 Those aren't ninja clothes. Those are the karate gi that looks like Cobra Kai's karate gi. Regarding the ninja mask, apparently I heard it has something to do with the toys. As Disney officially cancelled Power Rangers series after RPM, the Power Rangers toys continue to be made but due to Samurai Rangers did not have any actors cast in the roles due to the cancellation at that time, there was no likeness they can use and so, they used ninja mask to cover the face.

not gonna lie the pr samurai didn't have as good of a henshin sequence as shinkenger since when you actually look at the word "火 水 木 土 天 光" they actually have their elements inside of the henshin sequence that's why I think the CGI for shinkenger is better then PR samurai but i do kinda like the characters in PR samurai but i just prefer shinkenger more
