AT3Ws are absolutely dangerous on icy roads - KO2s are much better (but not as good as a dedicated winter tire).
@WilliamSwartzendruber16 күн бұрын
On my truck, the AT4Ws are utterly fantastic on both wet and dry pavement. I took them trailing a little bit but didn't do anything crazy. Even at stock sizes, they gave me a solid command of the vehicle on a rough part of that trail. Reviewers *are* saying the AT4W loses to the AT3W in snow, but that it gains everywhere else. My AT4Ws have no noticeable road noise. The KO2s I just took off of this truck were thoroughly useless on wet pavement. The AT4Ws are 265/70R17 and the KO2s were LT265/70R17.

Did you “caulk test” the tread contact with the road surface to determine correct PSI? I went 4 years with my KO2’s, I then just switched to the 315/70/17 KO3’s on my Gladiator JTR and caulk tested the PSI to be 32 up front and 30 in the back. With the ice and snow we’ve had in Calgary, I aired down to 30 up front and 28 in the back. I also tossed in 200 lbs in the back and these tires are just freaking amazing. A bit of a learning curve over how the KO2’s handled in the same icy conditions but I’m liking the 12 ply as a pose to the 10 ply.
@SS454LS614 күн бұрын
The chalk test, no. I keep track on my tire wear on the shoulders and on the center. I'm pretty close. But in the winter I tend to run lower temps that I wouldn't want to run in the summer. I run up to 65 psi in the front in the summer. It's just part of the heavy truck life.

2" leveling kit in the front, technically I have airbags in the back but half the time they are deflated. I don't recall the offset on the wheels. I can tell you they rub on the mudflaps at full lock, but it doesn't affect the tires or the mudflaps.

Towing a 8K travel trailer is scary at first. The tire tread/sidewall gives out making the tires feel like they shift side to side. Very uneasy around curvy roads. Do not purchase if towing. Otherwise I do like the tires for looks and likely will enjoy them when not towing for off road adventures.
