That's why President Museveni sums it all up and says we are an African tribe. Once I visited a museum in Rwanda and learnt that even us Basoga come from Rwandans according to history and concured with president Museveni that we should just drop these tribal talks n know that we are Africans..

Banyarwanda as a tribe are almost within most tribes but Banyarwanda as a tribe can historically be among Bahororo, Bakiga who are still located in northern part of Rwanda, Banyamulenge, Banyabwisha, Bafumbira, Banyankore especially those who assimilated into Banyankore culture, etc. Kigezi and other south western parts of Uganda that became part of Uganda in 1910 from Rwandan Kingdom came with Bakiga, Bahororo and Bufumbira who just rebranded themselves due to stigmatization of Banyarwanda and wanted to separate themselves from a nation of Rwanda.

@Kiriza222 ай бұрын
Actually what he is insinuating is very dangerous. He wants to claim that Rwandese have the same rights as Bakiga and Banyankore in Uganda. People in Eastern Uganda have relatives in Kenya, do they claim to be Kenyans? That is the same situation throughout all people living close to borders in Africa. We have to respect the boarders for each country.
@BirungiAisha-gg6gp2 ай бұрын
@@Kiriza22you are very clever Mr.kiliza 😊
@mariatheresa27552 ай бұрын
@@Kiriza22you are right. My problem is with them insisting that they are Banyarwanda and it should be recognised as a tribe in Uganda yet even in Rwanda there are tribes and Rwandese is a nationality. Let them look for another word to call their tribe in Uganda but not Rwandese. Its really confusing because worldwide Rwanda is known as a country but not a tribe.
@mariatheresa27552 ай бұрын
People here claiming that tribes have migrated from time to time, its true but that was before boarders were allocated for each country. Right now you have no freedom of moving from one place to another and settle and start calling that place yours. Land now has owners and there are laws governing different Countries. Tribes kept on changing names whereever they went and settled. Forinstance The Acholi, Japhadhola and Jaluo of Kenya have same ancestry but now their tribal names are different. The Samias, Gishu and Rwenzururu people have counterparts in neighbouring countries but cant go and claim nationality there. Even Baganda have counterparts in Tanzania. One time I was surprised, i had a Luganda conversation with a certain lady in a bus in Tz, as we were nearing the Mutukula boader she dropped off. She told me they were Baganda who were cut off by the colonial boeader and now they are found in TZ. Even one one of the Uganda Martyrs Yoana Maria Kiwanuka Mzee was a Muganda but his home of birth is now found in Tanzania.
@mariatheresa27552 ай бұрын
However I have one question, why refuse to give a national id and passport to some one who was born and raised in Uganda. I think this is not fair. These are Uganda nationals. Where does the government want them to go because I dont think Rwanda as a nation can accept such people as their nationals. I went to that country. It is very small and yet having very few people. Kati do you think it can accept those born from out? Those ones born here are Ugandans I think because sincerely govt eyagala bagoinge wa? Those who come and grab land babamme but not those born here banange. This is their home, Rwanda tebamanyi. I know of a Somali Lady who showed me her Ugandan national id. She told me she was born here and so she is a ugandan. I heard mbu even foreiners who live here for ten year are given citizenship.

History is wide and this guy needs to be supported to write the books. Africans needs to develop a culture of preserving information in writing and archiving. Ugandans don't like to research, read and archive. You don't find home libraries in their houses. In the Western countries you find in their homes , they have book shelves in their living rooms. You cannot keep the culture or history without writing and reading.

That guy is right, actually the original word of banyarwanda was Bahutu, now wen the tusi migrated from formerly Bachwezi empire specifically Ntusi in sembabule, so the bahutu could ask the new migrants the tusi who weya cattle keepers weya the came from and they would reply Ntusi, then the bahutu called these cattle keeper Batusi. And wen the Beligian took over this area of Bahutu in order to manage them them they had to create a new word called Rwanda Lastly the Bahutu, produce the Bafumbira, them the Bafumbira produce Bakiga, them Bakiga produce the Bahinda who were later called the Bairu. The the combination of Bairu or Bahinda and Bahima cattle keepers, then a new word called Banyankore was created of wic they adopted alot of words from the Bantu who has existed for London majorly Runyakitara language and some Luganda words into Runyankore. History is so interesting here
