IKR? WTF WAS NINTENDO EVEN THINKING WHEN THEY THOUGHT IT WAS A "GOOD IDEA" TO WASTE THAT MASSIVE POTENTIAL OF AN EMOTIONAL CUTSCENE WHERE NESS AND LUCAS FINALLY REUNITE AND GET TO HUG EACH OTHER??? The cutscene where Ness bravely sacrificed himself to save Lucas literally was, and still is, the most devastating and heartbreaking "taking the bullet" trope in ALL of gaming even to this very day, and no game ever released, whether before it or even after it, was as much tragic as that cutscene. I remember that I played Brawl back in the day, and yet *literally even to this very day* I keep questioning and thinking how seriously dumb they were when they wasted it even when considering how old Brawl is nowadays. I especially LOVE it when the Smash community just loves to shit on Brawl 24/7 and how they just bring up even the dumbest of excuses on why they hate Brawl, but these dumbass Brawl shitters NEVER EVER mention how this missing cutscene isn't one of the reasons why they shit on it. That's literally the #1 reason why, if Brawl deserves to be hated for, should be for. If there will ever be another Smash story mode and not like how World of Light wasted its own potential, I just wish Ness and Lucas have more screen time with each other, and more specifically I just wish if Ness plays a bigger role in the story. Dude, Ness had the literal least screen time in Subspace despite first appearing not very far from the beginning of the story, couldn't you just *at the very least* give him a little bit of justice by giving him a cutscene where he finally reunites with his friend Lucas?!

It’s so cool that Ness was the youngest, but almost seemed like the leader of this trio. I guess because he was the leader of his own group, but it’s so amazing how Subspace perceives Ness. Despite being one of the youngest fighters, in Subspace he was arguably one of the strongest. They even have him removed early, because he easily could’ve defeated Wario had Lucas not been there.

To be fair, Luigi and Ness made more of a contribution to saving the world than some of the characters that got more screen time than them. Case in point: Mario, Link, Yoshi and Pit. While everyone else pretty much had a goal in the story, their motives are incredibly absent-minded when you look at them. They spend their time running around: they chase the Ancient Minister, then they chase Dedede, then they chase Bowser and let him get away, so they give up on him and go back to chasing the Ancient Minister. It's true that they help out Marth, Ike, Lucas, Pokemon Trainer and the Ice Climbers but they're made redundant due to the fact that the people they were helping out would have handled it themselves. They're pretty much filler.

Danny Palin Um. Link and Yoshi are chasing the halberd since you know it's unleashing fucking monsters on the entire planet. Pit and Mario are chasing the ancient minister because for one he unleashed monsters and two he set a fucking bomb off in the tourney. They try and catch these guys but you know not alot you can do on a moving target especially of a machine you know nothing about. The only real one here is dedede who sacraficed his medal to make sure all of them had a medal. Now yes they did put in work but all in all everyone had their contributing part.
