That cadet is so cool, I also want to be an army officer after I complete b.tech, such stories motivates me a lot. Kind of a similar thing once happened to me. When I was in boarding school, during our annual sports week our house ( nilgiri, green house) had all the physically unfit demotivated students including me. Only 3 seniors of mine were representing our house in every freaking event, and my good god they were amazing. So other house people conspired to take the best one down outta competition. What they did was formed alliance and asked all teaches to not let him( the best one mahesh murmu) run in all track events. And he already secured 1st position in 100 and 200m sprints. Only 2 long distance runs were left and he definitely would've get us gold. But teachers didn't allow one runner to participate in all runs. And our house panicked cause we had no other player who could run even a single round of our huge freaking ground. Lastly one of our classmate opted for 4round run, he is an army aspirant too. But he aborted after 1st spin only, we lost that. Last long distance 7 rounds of ground, everyone was petrified cause 12pm sunny ass day huge distance to run, and the boy who daily goes to morning pt had to abort after 1spin. And I tried being funny and said I'll run, I had a reputation of never going to PT ever, not a single day. Principal couldn't take me to pt ground. So I thought no one will take that seriously but my bad luck, they did and I had no other option but run that excruciating 7rounds. No one had any hope nor did I, and after running 1 round I understood it was a bad decision and why that guy aborted. But somehow I ran 4 rounds and exhausted all my energy, I literally had stars popping and blurred vision. By that time 2 other athletes from red and yellow house already finished the race and remaining people aborted only I was there in tracks and was about to abort. But then something magical happened so filmy the guy from red house came back to track to encourage me and he ran along. My house mates, seniors, girls everyone started cheering up like crazy. And I realized, if I abort now I'll let all of them down. Somehow finished the race, I almost fell unconscious after that, cause I never did anything physically demanding like that before, came third (technically last). But no regrets because for next two entire days everyone almost treated me like a star, that felt so good. Even teachers were shocked and house master did a lot of tarif who usually has only scolded me. I'll never forget them and the day.
