SSBP Review #65 ~ The Banner Pub ~ Rockland, Ma

My mission continues to find “my” top ten South Shore Bar Style pizza places! This is hard work, but someone has to do it! Follow along as I try as many of these places that I can. This is the 65 th. place that I have tried! The journey is long and the road is hard. I will persevere 😂
I live in Abington which seems to be the Mecca for South Shore Bar Style pizza places, I have so many places to choose from within a 15 mile radius, all minutes from my house!
I order the same pizza (Mushrooms on 1/2 and Bacon on The Whole thing) each time, I do not ask for any modifications, I don’t ask for Laced or burnt edges, I don’t ask for extra cheese or sauce, I order it the way the establishment wants to make it.

Hey Russ ,it's DSherman on my tablet.. I wanted to let you know 20 or so years ago that place was called, "Hotel Pizza " and they had some of the best south shore bar style pizza I've ever had in my life. Back in the day everybody used to brag about their Pizza but from watching you a video I can tell it didn't even look close to being the same. Thanks for all your reviews. Wow, that’s awesome, I had no idea. They need to get someone to show them how to make a SouthShore Bar Style pizza! This pizza was awful, I actually felt sick after eating it.

I think your time frame is off. I Lived in Rockland for 22 years going on 23 and I have no idea what you're talking about. It's always been called The Banner. I got out of the army in Aug. 2001, came to Rockland. and that was the first bar I went too. literally a min. walk from me.

No they weren't. It was called Hotel Thomas. I've lived almost on the corner of it for over 30 years

Russ, how about Dennenos in Stoughton.? Everyone is Town Spa blah blah but trust me you won't be disappointed. I get a hamburg/pepperoni/mushroom combo 👌

I think for Rockland Mike's might be the best bet, or a tie between Mike's and Themis. I'm not saying they'll win awards or anything but contenders for the best in town. for Abington. Spencer's is in my opinion really good. D'Ann's restaurant isn't bad either. The mother of all Pizza's came from the Villarosa restaurant anymore, used to be in Quincy right near the Milton town line. I still cry about them shutting down

They've Should Of Closed This Place Down About 40 Years Ago. It's A Place For Drunks.. and they shore lived up to that.. DRUNKS..

Yeah not really a pizza spot…. But you did nail it on the Guinness they tend to have really fresh Guinness…. Seafood and irish type food is alright there but not good pizza
